Reasons why your baby is crying today

I’ll go first: 1. Spoon ran out of banana. I took it to put more on. End of the world. 2. Today we learned the beads don’t come off the bead maze we’ve been playing with daily for the past 2 months. 3. I put her down while she was floppy baby status because I had a tick on me. She woke up. 7 months old.

Why do a majority of daycares pay staff so little?

I really don’t understand. I saw a posting this week looking for a daycare staff member, offering $10-13/hr. I feel daycares (overall) charge a hefty amount to attend. Why is the staff compensated so poorly? I truly don’t understand this. It makes me sad for the staff and children. The staff deserve to be compensated well, they do NOT have an easy job.

tw miscarriage

All in one week I had an ultrasound with one healthy baby + two healthy sacs and then saw one sac and one baby and zero heartbeats. It’s been a long week. I’m basically waiting to start passing this because I haven’t had spotting or anything. Send wine or love or prayers or anything to help me muster through life. 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I'm having a hard time finding other parents to talk to/find play dates for my baby

My LO is 10 months old. We started going to baby activities when he was about 6.5-7 months old. My child loves watching all the other kids, goes over to touch them, try to steal their toys, the usual stuff. He's a very busy child. He needs to constantly go go go. We go to the playground, go to the library, go to baby groups. It's been at least 3 months and I haven't made a single parent friend. It's depressing. Even more depressing to know the structured ones we go to are almost done running until September when I'll be back at work. Apparently everything stops over the summer? I am just sad that I can't make friends with other parents to be able to let my son interact with other kids.

Poop pains post-childbirth

Talk about uncomfortable….but I haven’t had a painless bowel movement since delivering my daughter 4.5 months ago. I’ve tried stool softeners, upping fiber intake, drinking more water and nothing helps. I’m having to actually reach down there to try to help bowel movements progress 🙃🙃🙃 so I’m starting to have a suspicion that’s it’s more anatomy related than gastrointestinal - since I can tell the poops are a “normal” consistency. I’m scheduling a doctor’s appointment but won’t be able to be seen until this month is over due to current work commitments. Anybody experience something like this? How did you get it resolved?

6 month baby wakes for multiple feedings each night…normal?

My baby slept through the night from a very young age, but stopped around 5 months and now wakes multiple times each night. It’s been going on for long enough that I don’t think it’s just a brief sleep regression. I keep seeing things online about how many babies sleep through the night now. Even just one wake up would make it so much easier on my energy levels! We haven’t considered sleep training because she falls asleep really easily at bedtime. Any advice?

What are your hacks for traveling overnight with small children?

This is our trunk for traveling a single night overnight with two under 2 years for a family wedding. It has been absolute chaos for the last several hours getting packed and getting the kids mobilized. The house looks like it has been hit by a hurricane. What are your lifehacks for traveling overnight with small children?

12 months old screams too loud

My LO is 12 month old. For the last 1 month or so she started screaming loudly to express excitement, disappointment or anger. Initially I thought this phase will pass but now I am bit worried as she screams her lungs out and haven’t heard other babies screaming like this. I try to whisper to “no screaming” etc so that she also may mimic me and lower her voice. Is this normal behavior? How did you handle this with your kid at this age?

I don’t want to be a mom anymore.

My baby has been teething all week. He hasn’t hardly slept at all. He’s been screaming since 4 am this morning, it’s now 6 pm. 🙃 I’ve gotten 3 hours of sleep. My bf had to sleep all morning for work tonight so he’s already gone. His mother lives 17 minutes away but they’re too worried about finding a hotel for their beach trip than coming here and giving me a break for 1 fucking hour so I don’t lose my god damn mind. My parents live 3 hours away. I hate being a mom. I can’t do this anymore. 😭

Wife bites our 7 month old, thinks it's funny when she starts crying

Wife sometimes bites our 7 month old daughter in the arm or leg, not very hard probably but it still makes the baby cry for a bit. She thinks it's funny and cute but it bugs me because I don't think it's funny for the baby. I'm not saying it'll traumatize the baby for life, but I just don't get why she thinks it's funny that the baby is in distress. Would appreciate some perspective here - am I taking it too seriously by telling her that what she's doing isn't funny? Do other people do this? I've asked her to not do it again and she still does it.

I hate how I look

I’m 4 months pp, and the heaviest I’ve been in my entire life. I’ve always had a bad relationship with my body, but was in a good place before I got pregnant. Now I’m 275 pounds (gained 60 since finding out I was pregnant) I don’t have a full length mirror in my house because I don’t want to see how disgusting I look. I don’t have any pictures with my baby because I feel and look horrible. I’m struggling so hard with ppa and ppd and this is just making it so much more difficult to enjoy my little one. Does anyone have any advice on how they lost weight while having a baby? I can’t go to a gym because I don’t have anyone to look after the baby. And buying a bunch of healthy foods is not in my budget because veggies/fruit are sooo expensive right now.

Escaping

How normal is it for an almost 3 year old to run out of the house by himself? He wanted to touch his dad's parked car so he did just that. He's speech delayed and definitely didn't understand that he was even in trouble for it. He's never done something like this before 😬

I have no libido. Help!

I used to enjoy porn or erotica but now nothing. I was never big on sex and now I think it is more my libido. My sex therapist is helping me as well but I'm asking bromoms what has worked for you. Any advice?

Why is an extra adult not helpful?

Genuine question - why is an extra adult not helpful? My mom is awesome with my kids. She is my most trusted babysitter. She offered to run errands with me and the kids and I turned her down. She thinks it’ll be helpful but it’s not. The kids and I have a routine and another adult just throws it off (even my husband/their dad sometimes!) Like yes I wish we could shop together and my kids would behave but the won’t (I know from past experience). Idk this is more rant than question.
