Many parents get easily activated and triggered by their kids. In these moments, take a deep breath and try to replace “fight or flight” with “stay and help,” says the director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. @dfkris https://t.co/jJgLie1ZMo

How do you manage to recharge when you don’t get a second of alone time??
I have two toddlers and they are very attached to me. Which I know, I’m a mom, but they have a dad too but they never want to go to him so they follow me everywhere. And they ALWAYS find me. I love them, I really do, but sometimes I just want a minute to myself. And I’m usually too tired to stay up after they fall asleep. Any tips?

I need help 😭
I need help to provide my baby needs. I'm working so hard but my salary can't even buy him a good quality milk. Like I have to buy the cheapest milk and diaper because our money is not enough. I can't even buy him toys. All his clothes are from thrift store, he never had a brand new clothes. I really want to have a better job but because of this pandemic I have no choice. I'm spending my 6hrs for the travel time just to go to work and when I'm home I personally taking care of my baby, I don't have time to sleep but it's okay because I will do everything for him. It's just depressing that I can't give all his needs. His 1st birthday is on August and of course we don't have money to celebrate it. No one wants to help me because I'm a disgrace to our family since the father of my child left me.

PJs for big, chunky-armed babies?
My 6mo baby is huge. She’s in the top 1% for height (wtf?), top 16% for weight, etc. She’s outgrowing all her baby PJs (even footless ones) and is inching into 9-12m and even 12-18m sizes. All the long-sleeved PJs I’m seeing in those sizes say “snug fit” and have narrow-looking arms, which I don’t think will work for my tall, sausage-armed baby. The only thing I can think of is to put her in long-sleeved bodysuits (her lower body is in a sleep sack, so I’m not worried about the pants part). Anyone else have a similar problem and find a solution?

No frills cell phone or a smartwatch for 7yo son?
My (30F) son is turning 7 this month and I've been tossing around the idea of whether or not I should get him a no-frills cell phone or a smartwatch with the capability of talking / texting. His father and I are divorced, so he spends a weekend or two a month with his dad, especially now that it's summer time. His dad sucks about answering the phone, keeping it charged, yadda yadda, so I would like to have a way for my son to call if something happens, or just so I can talk to him in general without having to call his dad's phone. How old were your children when they got one of these items? Any suggestions on which ones are the best? I don't want him to have a camera, or to be able to browse the internet, just something that he can text and call with, and that has a GPS tracker preferably. I know he will start to go to friend's houses this year and have a little more freedom playing outside on his own, so having a GPS would be great.

Having a difficult time being a mom of 3.
Please don’t judge me. I recently had baby #3. I have 2 boys and this is my girl, my last baby. My first born has always been…Very strong willed. He’s 5 doesn’t listen, does what he wants, when he doesn’t get what he wants he cries endlessly… he cries A lot, all the time. He started something new… every time we put him in time out or try to redirect him he makes faces and mimics us…. He makes me hate being a mom. Nothing I do seems to correct his behavior. I love him, but parenting him makes me not like him. I hate waking up in the morning knowing I have to deal with his behavior. I need help… idk what to do….

Looking for Baby shampoo that makes my baby smell good
So, my newborn doesn't smell as good as my first kid. Number one could go a week before needing a formal bath. Number two smells like old water after the first night. Johnson and johnson and Dove just don't do it for her. Are there any shampoos that you have found that make your little smell good for a couple days?

Tongue ties and breastfeeding difficulties
For those of you that had breastfeeding difficulties due to a tongue tie, did you see improvement after clipping or did you need to get it lasered as well? My baby had his tongue tie clipped at 10 days old. We were told no exercises were needed to be done by everyone we asked… finally at 6 weeks, a more experienced lactation consultant referred us to an occupational therapist who has had us start doing oral exercises to improve his coordination. We are now at 10 weeks, still triple feeding, and while he has made a little progress, I feel he’s still really struggling with restriction, and unable to empty the breast. I’m also still working on increasing my supply since we got off to a bad start, but he struggles on bottles as well. I’d love to hear your stories! I really want breastfeeding to work, but it feels like we’re stuck…

Portable changing table?
Hi! My husband and I just welcomed a sweet boy, one month ago today, and on the 31st we are moving across the country! I am not ready. We are flying with bebé and shipping our cars. Beyond the cars and what we can pack in them, we are not taking anything else - we're going to get new a bed, couch, etc, and we haven't gotten any nursery furniture knowing we'd be moving shortly after our son's birth. We've been using a pack-n-play with a changing pad for a changing table, but we can't bring that on the plane so it'll be in our cars which means it may not get to our new location until after we do, and our rental house won't be ready for 3 days after we arrive so we'll be staying in a hotel. What would you recommend for a temporary or alternative changing table/pad? We do have some waterproof changing pad covers but I am not sure if that's enough. Thank you in advance!

Can anyone recommend a basic child psychology book for parents?
My mom was a psych major in college and a former teacher, so I grew up hearing a fair amount about child psychology. My husband did not, and had a lot of turmoil in his early childhood. Is there a relatively short book about child psychology that anyone recommends? He’s a good father, but his expectations of our kids aren’t always age-appropriate when it comes to their behavior.

If you were rich, would you still do preschool?
My 3 y.o. initially loved preschool but after four weeks she's had enough. I keep reading that this is a phase that will pass and then she'll start bonding with her classmates. Well if you put me in prison I too will bond with my mates after a month I guess. Maybe this 5 days a week thing is a Kool-Aid that we're all drinking from. Would you really do it if you were rich? I get that they need to socialize but this seems excessive.
