Have you been in a position where you couldn't afford anything for your child's birthday ?
I am just look to rant. It's my child's 1st birthday and I feel like a failure of a mother because I can't even get his first cake and ice cream for his birthday. How do you cope and move on? I have other children and I was able to do it for them but due to inflation it just isn't there to do. I really big on birthdays so it hurts. How did you cope with it? What other things did you do for your child ?

When did you start to prefer the company of your children over being alone?
My kids are 8, 6 and 3. I can really enjoy doing things with them, but if you gave me the choice of being with or without them for a day or a full weekend, I would (in a vacuum) choose to be alone and do my own stuff. I can imagine it's the opposite when I'm retired and they haveoved out, but does this transition already happened earlier for you?

Has anybody experienced this in their child’s armpit? It appeared today but doesn’t seem to be bothering him.

What are you all wearing?
Posted in r/babybumps too Getting frustrated. Had a c section 2 weeks ago and don’t know what to wear anymore. Have a few sweatpants and pajamas that fit. Can’t find clothes (or underwear for that matter) that fit and don’t irritate the incision site when needing to go out (doctors appointments, a walk etc). Any links would be welcomed to what you all are wearing. To top it off it’s insanely hot out.

When did your baby crawl?
My baby girl is 6.5 months old. She's rolling around, sitting up, rocking on all fours, slithers and shimmies around the floor. I've come to the realization that I need to baby proof a lot sooner that I initially thought. How much time do I have before she crawls?

What is your go-to make ahead meal for your babies?
I posted yesterday asking about diaper sizing and was overwhelmed by the response! So, I thought I’d ask another question. What is your go-to make ahead recipe for your baby? I have a 10-month old and my go tos are mango pancakes and broccoli bites. I make them in bulk and freeze them for later. I’d love some inspiration for more make ahead meals ! Leaving links to TikToks where I got my go-to recipes in the comments.

How to Navigate parties when LO is not on Social Media at all?
Title pretty much sums up our dilemma. My partner and I are both intensely private people and haven't posted a single photo of LO on social media. You wouldn't even really know we are in a relationship if you looked at our profiles (despite being together nearly 10 years, engaged and living together for 9). We want to keep LO completely off all forms of social media, I'm not knocking people that share pictures of thier LO, it's just not who we are. The issue is as we are starting to get invited to birthday parties I know that people will be taking pictures and uploading. I have no issue with it, but how do I tell people that I may not even know very well to not post photos on social media? I don't want to make a big fuss and make it weird, especially as people take candid photos of thier kids playing with other kids.

Advice on traveling between 3-12 months?
My wife and I just had our first LO, and we were trying to plan a good vacation that would be easy to travel to from California. We are looking at nicer hotels either in Mexico and Hawaii, with direct flights from SFO or Sacramento, or Oakland. Any advice for nice hotels that make it easy to travel with a newborn? No budget, as we haven’t traveled anywhere in literal years..

Who else has done the same and what is the outcome?
My baby is 3 mo old. I let him sleep as much as he needs to and never wake him up from his naps. I also feed him on cue and never deny a breast, even though his pediatrician told me to coach him to eat only every 4 hours, so that he learns how to sleep through the night. Frankly, I never asked him for advice, so I carry on following my mother instinct and pamper my baby with milk on demand and sweet naps for as long as he needs to. Has any of you done the same and how did your baby has been turning out? Mine is happy and chubby and healthy I must say, and very intelligent and chill, so…
