The future of American society depends on our ability as parents, educators, edtech professionals and legislators to collaboratively teach our children that words actually do matter. @ItsDrMordecai @EdSurge https://t.co/p9fgwRo0yr

Did you know it is very important for parents to allow their children to play independently? Being able to be alone is a skill all children (and adults) must have! https://t.co/iodC5OftxZ #parentingtips #childdevelopment

what's wrong with the YMCA?
I am doing ymca baby swim lessons with my 7 mo son. We love them! I have a few friends who identify as "crunchy". Usually myself and these friends get along well because I'm more of an attachment-style mom, differences in opinion have been easily glossed over and it's been great. Until I mention my son and I are in swim lessons, and they want to know where, and I tell them at the Y. Suddenly I'm being ghosted and nobody wants to share/talk about recommendations anymore. Nobody said anything directly but it only happened immediately after I mentioned going to the Y. I'll admit I'm a chicken and didn't ask because I don't want to sound terribly uninformed (and I often do around these friends lol) So I'm confused... what is wrong with the YMCA?

The average American family creates about 18 lbs of trash daily, most of which could be recycled but isn't. Radically reducing waste doesn't happen overnight, but we can reduce our carbon footprint by making a few changes. @LaVonneRoberts @washingtonpost https://t.co/jH53xIAIOW

A modern baby girl name is a good option if you're looking to break away from those more traditional, old fashioned baby girl names https://t.co/V4HvQAemgF

"I didn't know girls could play football on TV" - That's what Ottie just said to me as we settled in for the semi final with Sweden. On one hand that makes me sad that she didn't know that was a possibility, but on the other hand, I'm pleased to see it's getting the visibility and support women's sport has deserved for a while. If girls can see women achieving things at the highest level in sport on mainstream TV, it can only be a positive that will inspire them and provide them with role models they want to emulate, whether it be in sport or working hard towards a goal of their own making. Now, come on England! #lionesses #inspiration #fatherofdaughters #dadlife #fod #mygirls #
