I need to share this somewhere
My little girl is 11 months old and I don't want to bore all my friends anymore with me talking about her but I need to share somewhere. I had such a lovely day with her today. It's difficult at times, she's cut her fifth tooth and she's had allergies, infections etc. Today was just amazing. We didn't do anything amazing, it was pretty chilled but she just did so many things that are different. She climbed up the stairs the first time (don't worry I was behind her and she usually isn't allowed to do this, we have stair gates), she held her doll the whole way to the shop and back in her pram, she will go get her dolly if you say "where's dolly", she also gives dolly a kiss. If I lie down she just comes up and kisses me. I'm nearly crying thinking about it. It's just so nice spending time with her and seeing her grow and develop. I love her so much. Sorry, I just need to share somewhere

I finally caved and got a toddler leash/backpack.
I might get sh*t on a lot for this but I have no regrets. I can't wait for it to be delivered. Today was the last straw, we walked to the river and she wanted to come out of the stroller (we live in a condo building so no backyard to play outside) and she wanted to dart ahead, go in front of bikers or other people walking, go to close to the fence to the water.. normal toddler stuff. But mostly I'm afraid if I look down at her brother (one month old) for even a second, someone will take her or she'll dart in front of a car. Now I can relax some knowing she's safe and she can have that freedom to roam about and release all that energy. People will judge no matter what you do. She had a terrible tantrum coming back, so I put her in the baby carrier and carried her kangaroo style and I had two cars STARE at me and someone make a comment as we passed.

Doctor predicted LO’s height??
Had to take our LO (~4 months actual, ~2 months adjusted) to a GI specialist at VERY reputable center - like top in the nation. Anyways, doctor asks my height and dad’s then says LO will be about 5’ 11” … like what? Is there any accuracies to these “predictions”? Before someone says “who cares? Just be grateful you have a healthy baby” or something.., I don’t care how tall he ends up being! I just found it rather odd they would make such a leap to predict our baby’s adult height and wanted to hear others thoughts / experiences .

“FUCKING JESUS CHRIST”
As if I didn’t already feel like the worst mother of all time because I’ve been in a hole of depression for the last two days, have called off work, not cleaned my house, and fed my kids chicken noodle soup and PBJ for dinner last night, my 3 year old’s preschool teacher told me today my kiddo has been yelling “fuck!” and “Jesus Christ!” when he is frustrated. I say both of those things too much in front of them. I’m trying to be better. I feel like I can’t do anything right.

New father
Hey guys, I just wanted to say it’s a blessing be a parent but I feel horrible because last night I got frustrated due to my little one not wanting to sleep, after I fed him, changed his diaper, and swayed him to sleep but it didn’t work. My partner got upset at me because I got frustrated. Is it normal to feel that way?

What kind of babbling should my 5 month old be doing?
He says lots of goos and makes an agoo sound. And blows raspberries, and says ahhhhh a lot. No mamas or dadas or gaga. Is this normal? It says online he should be saying mama or dada by now but it seems early.

Baby cradle cap
Hi! I’m a new mom and my daughter has some awful cradle cap. I’ve been battling it with a tiny comb and some coconut oil. But it just keeps coming back. Am I doing something wrong or is this just something Moms and babies have to deal with? Any advice?

kindergarten home work yay or nay?
I am curious about other parents'opinions on whether or not they agree if a kindergartener who goes to school for a full day should also come home and do homework.

3 month old hates baths
Temp is between 37 and 38 degrees and I get in with her but she still hates it. I try skin to skin to keep her calm but then remember she also doesn’t like chest to chest outside the water. What can I do?

1st grader class assignments
I’m unsure what to do here. My 1st grader just started and in a school with three 1st grade classrooms approximately 90 students total he ended up in a class with none of his friends, teammates or neighbors which is close to 20 kids. I’m kind of afraid they split the classes up by their kindergarten performance and my kid ended up in the lower performing class along with ESL kids and ones with behavioral issues. I admit we took it easy in kindergarten but he was on track or so I thought with his peers and now since august he’s enrolled in an after school tutoring/extra work program as we expect more from him now. My question is if I’m crazy to think the school set classes up this way or if I should just assume the school knows what they’re doing and not say anything to administration?

What was/is your "favorite" absolutely not science based baby trend?
Of everything that surrounds child raising, the crazy fads and trends are some of the things that both annoys and fascinates me (guilty pleasure kinda obsession) So what are your favorite ones, recent or old timey? Mine definitely are the amber necklace/bracelets as a teething and calming device. I could never believe how popular it got and how passionately people would swear by it. And an old one here in my country is that having a pet turtle will cure respiratory system problems and diseases in young kids and teenagers. These live rent free in my brain as the whackiest

why do kids have to scream every time you talk on the phone?
Just ranting...I have a 3 (soon to be 4) month old baby boy and a 1.5 year old little girl. I'm fortunate enough to work from home on a flexible schedule while caring for them. Usually, our days are pretty chill. They eat breakfast, my daughter plays and I keep her and my baby entertained. Most days are quiet. Not this one. Today I had to make 3 phone calls and of course my daughter had to scream through each one. I finally got so frustrated I had to leave the room during one call and I came back to both of them screaming. I'm trying to pump milk for my baby boy 4 times a day so I sat down to do that and my daughter immediately tried to climb all over me and started to scream in my ear. Now she's on the floor crying because I told her not to hit her brother. I'm so frustrated I could scream right now.

What would you put on a registry for 3+ month old?
We're planning to do a "Welcome Baby Shower" when our son will be 2 months old. We have everything, aside from more formula and diapers, to get us to 3 months. What are some items you would recommend for a 3+ month old baby? Anything up to and past toddlerhood would be appreciated!
