Sitting in isolation during detention or suspension is ineffective and counterproductive—it sends the message that no one has time to deal with behavior that does not comply with school rules. @edutopia https://t.co/WN1FsGrOHY

How do you deal with Karens
My husband is half Indian half Scottish. Our daughter (2 months) is alot lighter skinned that him and alot darker than me. My husband was recently walking the baby in her stroller at the local park and a woman insisted that he kidnapped her because she was to light to be his. Police were called. This is not the first time this has happen. Other people have asked me if she is adopted because she is to dark to mine. How do i deal with this level of stupidity? Any advice would greatly appreciated

Took my kiddo to a drop off childcare center today and did absolutely nothing
I feel like I should have cleaned the house, or took a hike or did something worthwhile. Instead, I had McDonald's delivered and have laid around all day surfing Reddit and playing games. It was honestly so nice though and I haven't been able to do that in peace and quiet for so long. I definitely plan on taking her there weekly because she had a good time. Is it so bad to take that time to do absolutely nothing?

Should I allow my addict parent a chance to meet their grandchild?
My biological mom who I've not spoken to in over a year, has found out from someone else that I had a baby girl. My mom is a drug addict and severe alcoholic who has gone through rehab several times and has a habit of not caring about other people and their needs. I separated myself from her before my daughter was born because she became extremely abusive both physically and psychologically. Now my daughter is 6 months old and my mom wants to meet her and claims she is doing well. I have heard from my friends that I should make amends but honestly I'm afraid she is not trustworthy. What should I do? I don't want to tear my child away but I don't want to watch my mom abuse her the way she did me.
