Pockets!
Why do baby clothes have working/ functional pockets when my own adult female clothing only has fake or teeny tiny pockets???? What do baby’s have to carry around that they need pockets so bad?

What bad things did you do at sleepovers as a kid and will you let your kid go to them?
When I was between the age of 10-13, my friends and I were up to a lot of naughty stuff. Im talking sexual, smoking, porn, making homeade quija boards, trying to do witch craft, drinking, etc. This was back in 1999-2003. I cannot imagine what the kids are doing these days. Knowing how naughty we were during sleepovers with multiple friends (and i was the quiet shy kid!), i cannot imagine letting my daughter go to sleepovers . Not to mention i remember a lot of the parents being weirdos.

Nervous about handling a newborn
Hello! I’m 39 weeks today, and I’m just getting really nervous about when my baby comes, in a kind of humourous way. I’m experienced with children, but not *babies*. Like, this lil potato is literally going to be completely dependent on me and I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing 😅 Anyone else feel this way or have advice? Did being responsible for a tiny helpless nugget feel daunting to you and turn out all well? Sincerely, a slightly clueless FTM 😂

My bilingual mother visits once a week for the whole day — will it be helpful or hurtful for her to speak to little dude in Spanish just this one day?

I know I'll never win
But sometimes I need to buy a lottery ticket just so I can fantasize for a few days about being unbelievably wealthy. I feel like that experience alone is worth the couple bucks I spent on the ticket. Anyways. That's all. What would you do with tens of millions of dollars?

Finally..
Hey bromos. It’s me, the bromo who’s living in a tent in her sister’s yard. Except, NOT!!! We finally had enough money put away to get an apartment!!! It’s moving day ladies!! Cherry on top, they were doing a leasing deal for the end of the month. I pay waaaaay less than half what it would normally cost to move in!! I’m literally sitting on the floor in my new apartment, just enjoying the silence and the… finality of it all. Can’t enjoy it for long cause I got stuff to move in, but this deserved a break. And one more cherry. My sister’s mom found some furniture for us so we won’t be sleeping on the floor anymore. It’s legit furniture and will be thoroughly inspected by 5 parties including myself. I’m so god damn happy y’all. If I wasn’t so emotionally numb from the stress I’d probably be crying from happiness. Only up from here. 🤞🏼🤞🏼 if you stuck around, thanks for reading! 💜💜

My almost 8m old is not finishing bottles...
Anyone else experience this before? She has about 6 ounces every 2-3 hours still but lately she hasn't been finishing them. My mom said it might be because she wants more actual food but her teeth only started poking out last week really. I give her soft stuff but she also doesn't seem to like certain textures so i'm not sure if it's the food or if she's distracted? I try to move her toys so she can eat without playing with everything. I'll ask her pediatrician tomorrow when we go to the office but I was just curious if this is normal. TIA!

2 year old won’t stop hitting newborn
We have a 2 year old (28 months) and a 6 week old, both girls. Recently our 2 year old has gotten in the habit of going up to and smacking our newborn really hard. Every time she does it she gets time out and cries but she continues to do it again and laughs. I try to explain why she can’t do it and why it’s dangerous but she just responds by laughing and saying “mommy’s serious” with a smile on her face. When I get her out of timeout I make her tell me why she went in timeout snd she always knows exactly why. Other than this she’s extremely nurturing and always want to help take care of the baby and takes care of her baby dolls so sweet. I’m 99.9% sure it’s for attention but I can’t just ignore it because it could seriously hurt baby. I’m at my wits end! Anyone gone through this and have advice or is it just a phase we have to wait out and just not leave them alone together in the meantime?

Question about leaving kids home alone
I have a question for parents of reddit. The people who live down the block from us, let their 7 year old go home alone after school. He's 7, he looks younger (5 or 6) and he has a key to get in house. His older brother does not come home until an hour later, so he walks 3 blocks from school to come home and he's home alone for an hour. Both parents work. Would you let 7 year old stay home alone like this for an hour?

Dating as a single parent
Just out of interest, what’s it like trying to find someone as a single parent? It terrifies me that no one would want to date a single mother in her mid/late 30’s but I would so like to meet someone and expand my family! Anyone got some positive stories to share?
