Who’s watching the baby
My husband and I own a business. We had a baby 4 weeks ago. I went out to some locations yesterday and was asked several times- “Who’s watching the baby?” Umm we have a baby monitor, obviously. 🙄 Can we normalize that dads also parent?

I am child free for 5 hours
That is all. My husband is taking the baby to his mothers house until 6, I’m gonna take a 5 hour nap. This seems small but I can’t tell you how excited I am

How do I explain to my complaining friend why her kids are assholes?
.. without using those words? She is prone to stonewalling when things get uncomfortable. She constantly complains about their behavior and asks rhetorically why they are like that. But she is not open to suggestions. I am very exhausted by the whole "standing at the sidelines, getting the load but no voice to change it" situation .

Maternity Clothes trade in
I wish there was a service that allowed you to trade in your maternity clothes and pre-pregnancy clothes for nursing tops. They are so expensive! I don't need my pregnancy clothes anymore, and I'd really like to have some tops designed for nursing since I'm in it for the long haul. I really hate lifting up my shirt and having my belly just out there. Yes I cover up, but I'll be pumping when I go back to work teaching and I just hated sitting there with everything out while pumping. Even though I was in the privacy of my own room, there were a few Co workers and my principal that were apparently blind to the rather large "Please knock, I'm pumping" sign on my door. I'd prefer to at least have my belly covered if someone were to walk in on me. I mean the pump flanges cover the other parts, sort of. If I knew how to go about it, I would totally start this.

Discovering that they don't make kid's shows like they used to... anything I am missing?
And hear me out on the "like they used to part".... growing up in the 90's there were all sorts of shows that were "transportation" related. Thomas, Theodore, JJ The Jetplane, Bob the Builder.... seems like there isn't much at all to choose from these days on the cars, boats, planes and trains front. Animation in the present is just weird to me. While I loved the stuff I grew up with, I keep putting myself in my son's shoes: I wouldn't have wanted to watch all of my dads kids shows from the 50's when I was growing up. I'd have found it lame I'm sure, so I'm trying not to do the same thing to him! Wife agrees as well, and while she didn't watch she same shows I did growing up (for obvious boy/girl reasons) she, too, feels that the selection is really lacking these days. Cocomelon has been terrific for us for our son's first year but we are looking for advice on other good shows out there to check out as our son grows older. Thank you all in advance!

Anyone else get nervous about checkups?
2 year check up today and I’m freaking out because my son still won’t brush his teeth, eat fruits or veggies, lives off carbs, dairy and sugar, and gets lots of screen time. Fretting and feeling like a bad mom and scrambling to find a way to rectify this stuff with a few hours to go 😓 I can’t be the only one right?

Anyone else's child have enlarged adenoids that cause drainage and stuffiness?
So I have been taking my two-year-old to the the doctor Yeah before the last 6 months because he has had so much drainage and stuffiness. Doctors would say everything from teething to allergies and I tried claritin and Zyrtec (prescribed baby versions) and no effect. After an Xray we found the culprit: Enlarged Adenoids. Doctor said the options were 1.a quick operation to get them out which scares the absolute crap out of me 2. sleep study which I know my son will not go for , he is already a finicky sleeper as it is. 3. Let it be since the congestion comes and goes and most nights he manages to sleep and monitor him and reasses later if it gets worse. Is anyone else going through this. Does anyone know what the operation is like. I guess if it gets worse I have no choice. Is there any risks to children being under anesthesia compared to adults or am I just being worrisome dad

Reading Parents! What Chapter books are you reading to your kids right now?
Or what has been your favourite book to read aloud? Or what book are you looking forward to reading to your kids? I'm reading *Prisoner of Azkaban* with my oldest right now and various Magic TreeHouse Books with my youngest. I'm trying to figure out though, how young is too young for *Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy*. I think it would be absolutely hilarious to read out loud.

How to avoid plastics with baby?
Hey everybody, I recently read that even in the first poop of a baby micro plastics can be found and this sadly doesn't get better as they age. However, I find it incredibly hard to avoid plastics especially with kids. It seems like a lot of baby stuff is made of plastic. Makes sense because it is unbreakable, easy to clean etc. Do you try to avoid it? If so, what are your tips? Any items that are easily replaceable with non-plastic alternatives? Thanks!

Normalised everything
So I have a daughter who is 10 months old. And we are first time parents. I’m trying to find a balanced meal time / sleep time plan for her at her age online but can’t find any real world data (we don’t wake up at 6am) Any pointers from experienced parents as to what times and what bedtimes I should be implementing would be a real help. Thanks for reading.

How to EBF with my partner
I (36f) exclusively breastfed my first child. Every night feeding was on me (hah) but that was back when I didn’t have a partner, so it was really the only option that made sense. Now I am pregnant with Baby #2 and my incredible partner wants to be involved with the night time feedings, yet we still want to EBF…. Is that possible? How did you do it? Would I wake up and pump every time he wakes up to feed baby a bottle of breast milk? I’d love to hear successful EBF stories with partners, specifically how you handle night feedings. Thanks!!

My 3.5 year old is a psychopath at bedtimr
She sweet, kind and adorable at almost any other time of day. But at bedtime she turns into a monster. Every single thing is a 10-15 minute battle. Getting in the bath, getting into PJs, brushing teeth, brushing hair… Bedtime takes over an hour and by the end of it we’re all screaming…

Ideas for Christmas and first birthday presents?
I have decided to make an Amazon wish list for baby’s first Christmas and birthday because I really don’t want a bunch of toys when we already have a decent amount and he won’t remember the gifts. I’m thinking of asking people to contribute to a convertible car seat and we also have a 529 college savings open. Any other suggestions on what I should add to the list?
