I gave my almost 3 year old a horrible hair cut.

I tried to trim his hair on my own. I failed miserably, he moved and it went straight to the scalp cause I had no clipper on the machine. I tried to level off everything and made it worse. I can’t stop crying. It looks so bad. I feel like a horrible mother. Not that he even cares or notices. It looks like he has a head fungus cause it’s so patchy. Other adults will look at him and probably laugh at him. He’s bald in some places

Empathy interviews, school-wide connectedness screeners and Kiva panels are helping teachers get more depth in their understanding of what students need. @NimahGobir https://t.co/1FVeHPnB2S

How does anyone who ever met a baby think 6 weeks is enough?

Baby just turned 5 weeks old, and I can’t believe that if I hadn’t had a C-section, this would be the last week of FMLA coverage I would have. I get a whole TWO EXTRA WEEKS because of the C-section. Baby and I are just figuring out breastfeeding, he doesn’t sleep for more than a couple hours, he needs my attention constantly. How can anyone who has ever spent an hour with a 6 week old think that 6 weeks is enough time for mom and baby to be together before returning to work? But here I am feeling lucky I have 8 weeks of partial coverage…

I love seeing all the new information on early detection and therapies for Autism! This research study out of Australia may still be small but it is promising. #ASD #Autism https://t.co/xHBpw9qF2a

First time mom here

Howdy y’all ! I am a 25yo soon to be first time mom, I’m doing the majority of this on my own as I have no family or spousal support. I just wanted to come here and ask for some parental advice, I can’t seem to get this insurance business figured out. How do I know what insurance is best ?? I’m not understanding a word on the benefit plans whatsoever. I never had to do this before because up until a few years ago I was under my mothers insurance. Well we had a falling out and my insurance coverage under her is nearing an end and I’m due in March, just a few months before it’s done. I wanted to get me and babies insurance ready so it’ll be a smooth transition and also so that baby has insurance for the months leading up until my cancellation. Hope there’s someone out there who can help. Have a lovely Halloween 🎃 ! EDIT : I know I should be using google 😅 but I thought having actual opinions from people would be much more helpful, sorry !

Let me tell you about my MIL.

She's an absolute gift and I love her dearly. I have some sort of nasty cold and am home alone with the kid while my husband works, and he can't take time off right now. I didn't sleep at all last night because of a bad cough; I spent most of the night on the couch miserable so he could maybe rest. He was worried about me, so he reached out to his mom, who texted me to see how I was doing and offered to come help. She brought us all lunch and handled the baby (he's 1) to give me a break. She's done so much for our family and is really like another mother to me. This is just one example, but I just wanted to give a shout out. I got so lucky in the in-law department.

Feels Surreal

I have a 4 week old, and I still can’t wrap my mind around it. It just feels surreal. I can’t believe I’m a mom and I have a daughter. I haven’t been able to say the word “daughter” out loud because it feels so foreign. Sometimes I’m just like “wow.. I have this human I have to keep alive and I’ll watch grow for the rest of my life”. It’s crazy to think she’s just going to get older and older. To be honest it scares the shit out of me. Sometimes the feeling is just so overwhelming I have to take a moment to process. It freaks me out! Can ANYONE relate so I don’t feel so crazy?

Looking for good influences for my 14 son to counteract the crap influence of Andrew Tate

Videos, podcasts, sites, better humans..whatever. A few buddies started sending him videos and of course the bravado caught his eye. We have spent a lot of time talking about it but he says that he still got some good points from Tate. Like taking care of yourself physically. My son is now very into fitness and goes to the gym 3-4 days a week and boxing twice a week. I can see that he really is happier and likes doing it. But i worry about the negative side and I wondered if any of you can share more appropriate influences .

Do you put a onesie on underneath the sleep n play, or just the sleep n play by itself?

I’m pregnant and a FTM so I have no idea! I heard that the footed sleep n plays with a zipper all the way down are the easiest to take on and off of baby, so I planned on just getting a bunch of those and avoiding anything with snaps altogether. Then recently someone told me that they always put on a onesie with snaps on the bottom underneath the sleep n play for comfort. What do you do? Would baby still be comfortable in just a diaper and a sleep n play?

any other SAHM get extremely overestimated in public?

I spend 90% of my time at home. I'm chill when I'm in my own space. As soon as I have to interact with the public.. I feel like my brain is melting. Getting groceries makes me incredibly anxious. Shopping anywhere with my kids makes me want to pull my hair out. All the noise and chatter hurts my brain. I can't think in public with the hustle and bustle of people. Even driving back and forth to all the places I need to go feels exhausting. By the end of a day running errands, my brain is mush. I get incredibly overwhelmed. I have to sit in silence for an hour or so afterward to gather my thoughts or else I start raging. I wonder if it's because I'm so used to being home. Do any other stay at home parents feel this way or do you think maybe something else is going on? What do you guys think?
