Am I heartless or does anyone else feel like other people overreact when LO is sick?

LO’s grandparents are literally crying in tears and yelling at each other / me right now because he has pink eye. I keep getting passive aggressive texts from people who aren’t here in person about how the daycare is probably what gave him pink eye (even though it could have easily come from them too because they don’t wash their hands…) I feel like I’m in a soap opera. Everyone is being so dramatic. I mean yes it hurts me to see him sick, but I’m trying to find an urgent care when they’re all extremely overbooked because of cold/RSV/flu/Covid season, and everyone is just yelling and texting over a disease that’s… curable.

I want baby #2, husband doesn’t

Long story short I want baby #2, but my husband doesn’t. My husband is an only child, very stubborn and very financially focused (he grew up poor, so we can never save enough). Collectively we make $400k, but he’s very focused on big financial goals like savings, buying a house etc. I appreciate it, but also really want our boy to have a sibling. I know we will continue to be successful in our careers so am less focused on the financial stress of adding another. How can I talk to him about how much it means to me and get him to think beyond just financial goals when it comes to family planning?

Churchy question

I fully expect the awful comments to flood my inbox, but hope they won't. Church was forced on me as a child. I have been a handful of times as an adult, out of obligation/guilt/etc. I've never felt like I belong there. I mostly don't feel like I belong anywhere, but my question is where can you get that kind of community without going to church? Going to church and not believing in what it is that they're worshipping seems wrong, but in my community it seems as though you're the outcast if you don't go to church and proclaim your love to Jesus. Just feels like one more thing I'm missing out on. What do you all do?

trying to do everything right and feels like I'm doing it all wrong

I'm sat bathing my baby and I'm in tears. For 8 months I've been trying to do everything right. I heard breastfeeding is the best thing to do, so I EBF for 6 months, my reward for that is a baby who won't sleep longer than three hours at night and won't nap more than half an hour. When we started solids, I've been home cooking every meal, putting care into exactly what he eats, making sure it's all healthy, and he just screams at me and throws food around. I could barely look at him tonight. I spent two hours making his dinner and a pudding for him to just scream at me and throw the plate around. I'm at breaking point now. The house is a mess because he won't let me put him.down for more than 5 minutes, I'm massively behind on uni work. My only break is the 12 hours a week I spend at work. I'm tired.

The metaverse is clearly the next big innovation in education—and right now, colleges and universities are barreling down the same path they did for OPMs. @danielpianko @EdSurge https://t.co/YrBIbZXdkd

As a middle school teacher of reading, writing, poetry, and grammar, I was surrounded by teens all day, and I thought I had a firm grasp on how to parent a middle schooler. But this was different. #bullying #parenting https://t.co/gcV9tdrsom

Working at home with your kids

Does anyone here work from home while their kids are at home? If so, what do you do and what are the challenges and highlights? We’re going to have another child soon and I enjoy work. However, I also value being able to be the primary caretaker for my children while they are young. I’m debating working part time while they are at daycare, maybe working part time while they are home with me, or just looking at all the options. I would love to hear about your experiences.

3 year old never stops

I’m stuck sat feeding my baby and our three year old is slowly dismantling my bedroom, constantly running around, climbing on the sofa, jumping off the back onto the cushions and asking me to do something or a question about once every 15 seconds. This is almost constant every day. Is this normal?!?

Can anyone tell me what to do with a wobble board?

We have recently had a baby, and received a [wobble board](https://www.bol.com/be/nl/p/balansbord-origineel-grijs-balance-board-duurzaam-wobbel-speelgoed-voor-kinderen-balansbord-vilt-grijs-90-x-30-cm/9300000117380997/?Referrer=ADVNLGOO002037-G-140527491311-S-1671735146094-9300000117380997&gbraid=0AAAAAD5OnmP2bJw8aNmW9hlDbyvR547TI&gclid=CjwKCAjw8JKbBhBYEiwAs3sxN5805NXDiiAEOHO-fcumgu7TFId0MPsn7r2pEeRt1FIIkDASiAec6hoCUlwQAvD_BwE)as a gift. Can anyone tell me what on earth we do with it!? It seems it was a fairly expensive gift, but I can’t for the life of me understand what to do with it. The gift-givers said it will help baby learn to walk, but I don’t see how. Anyone got any experience with one? Or is it just a weird fad?

what are some things you wish people without kids knew about parenting?

A lot of people who don't have kids tend to have misconceptions about what being a parent and family life is like. I'll start: I wish people understood that just because I dont feed my child or change his diaper in front of people doesn't mean I never do it, he eats regularly though it's usually at his grandparents place since we live close to each other and I visit them everyday and I would never feel comfortable changing his diaper in front of someone who isn't a close family member but that doesn't mean that I don't change him before and after outings lol, there are 24 hours in a day, what I do within 1 hour doesn't define my parenting
