Moms: What’s one thing you wish you knew going into labor that no one told you?
I’m due this month. My mother is literally no help and my MIL though a gem is not the best with advice in this area. What’s one thing you really wish you knew before labor that would happen? I’m not going to lie. I’m scared. I am so ready for my son to be here. I’m ready to hold him and my husband is ready to stand by for anything I need. I’m just. The idea that I’ll be in pain for hours is scary. I’m allergic to most pain meds and will be doing this med free due to that (seriously the only allergies I have are pain meds, thanks genetics) I guess I just need some reassurance or also a better complete picture of how this will go… thank you.

My first instinct when I found the joint was to yell, scream, kick … whatever it took. But some rational thinking replaced the powerful urge. #parenting https://t.co/t1CwwGzJ4J

Things my 4 month old has napped through today:
- Maintenance cutting a hole in our ceiling (HVAC replacement) - Hammers, drilling - Our door slamming shut several times - Vacuuming debris from the work that they did - Loud voices The thing my 4 month old did not nap through today - Me, sneezing in the other room

Help me find the most annoying toy!
When my sister and I and my cousin were growing up, my mom and aunt used to try to find the most annoying toys for Christmas gifts. I want to carry on the tradition with my sister now. My nephew will be a year old this Christmas. What are the most annoying toys you have seen before? Anything that makes loud obnoxious noises that babies absolutely love.

“yOu hAvE To tAkE cArE Of yOuRseLf”
Says the man who’s been snoring through the last couple nights while our kid has been puking his guts out (at this point I’m fairly certain he somehow inspired the Exorcist scene). This asshole that I married had the BALLS to tell me that this morning. Woke up late. My eyes have such dark bags and are swollen from lack of sleep. I’m cranky. My period decided to be a week and a half late the suddenly TA-FUCKIN-DA show up this morning. I might need an alibi if he dares mutter another word to me today.

i hate my kid
i have a 14 month old son and i hate him. anything he does i find annoying. i don’t want to spend time with him, and i look forward to going to work so i’m not responsible for him. when i found out i was pregnant i was ecstatic. my husband and i were both so excited. and it was hard for a bit as we adjusted to newborn life but it got better. i didn’t exactly hate him but i could tolerate him. but once he hit a year old, it’s been getting worse. he’s quick to anger and so intense. he screams constantly, he spits his food in my face and he’s been waking up a lot overnight. he throws probably 4 tantrums a day. he hits me all the time and bites me. my husband adores him, and no matter what, loves him. with every passing day, i find myself hating him more and more. i want to leave so badly but i know it’ll absolutely wreck my husband and i love him very much.

Craving a village.
I am a stay at home parent and I often daydream of living in a village where all our children can play together, there’s plenty of grown ups around, we all have potluck dinners and help each other out.
