"My stocking at Dad's house is better" 💔💔💔💔💔

It's me again, "first christmas separated" platypaurus. I'm crocheting a new stocking my kiddo because I figure new traditions, new stocking, and I really like crocheting. I just told my kiddo I'd be right back, going to get your stocking to work on, which prompts them to say "my stocking at Dad's house is better because there's [thing kiddo loves] on it". Bromos, my heart shattered. I literally felt the gut punch. I know kiddo didn't mean anything rude by it, they're little and that's just not in their nature. I tried to stuff my feelings down and said something like "oh, that sounds cool! One doesn't have to be better than the other, though, they're just different. Should I keep making this one?" and they said yes. I think that's the first time I've heard about something being "better" at the other house, so I guess that's why it landed the way it did. Anyway, going to go sob into some yarn now. 😪

Allowing children to entertain themselves is a practice that has existed since hunter-gatherer societies. Its popularity probably tells us more about the anxiety-riddled state of privileged parenting than anything else. @ElizabethGChang @washingtonpost https://t.co/NQwFx1TEjC

Someone please tell me it gets better

I did not know this level of exhaustion even existed. My fiancé and I are at our wits end and our baby is only 5 days old. I’m not completely mobile yet cause I had C section and not being able to jump up immediately when he cries is heart wrenching. We are both getting frustrated when we try everything to get him to quit crying and nothing seems to work. At the point that we just cry with him. Any advise is grateful and just needing some uplifting this morning.

Newborn clothes already too small?

Newborn onsies already too small? Just had a boy earlier this week. He wasn’t exactly small at 11 pounds 6 oz. But when we put him in the clothes we brought they were pretty snug right off the bat. They were from carters if that matters. Anyone else share a similar experience?

You've probably created a summer bucket list, but what about a #winter one? Things to do when you're bored. Things to do when you’re craving adventure. Things to do when you're cold. But most importantly, things to do this season! ❄️ Read our ideas, here: https://t.co/MNah9Z3eza https://t.co/IFZwlM1nqE

How do I convince my husband to stop feeding him “expired” milk? Or is it not a big deal

My husband will frequently give old milk to my 10 month old. We give a bottle at bedtime (8 pm). He will usually want a quick top off at 11 pm - midnight. He will usually just give him the left over. Or sometimes if we did a night feed at 2-3 am; he will keep using the left over milk/bottle/nipple at 6 am when it’s baby’s wake time. Other than just taking over every feed, what can I do to stop this? Is it even a big deal? Should i just let it pass if it’s not really a big deal? He is a doctor too… but he thinks it’s not a big deal…. 🙁

Trends come and go, but as these names were good enough for our great, great, great grandparents (and are still floating around today!) https://t.co/h06IkJk1fd

TIP: Lead by example: It’s hard to tell kids “no electronics!” when you are *always* checking email or taking work calls during family time #positiveparentingsolutions
