Visors are cool! #ChangeMyMind Ever wonder what an astronaut sees when out and about on a spacewalk? NASA astronaut Michael Hopkins pointed his camera, heavily protected from the environment of space, toward his spacesuit helmet's reflective visor and took this epic selfie that most influencers can only dream of during one of his first spacewalks of 2021. Together with fellow NASA astronaut AstroVicGlover (out of frame), the duo completed a number of tasks designed to upgrade ISS systems including installation of the final lithium-ion battery adapter plate. 🤔Anyone know off the top of their head why we use a layer of gold coating on the visors of the astronaut helmets?
