Good, simple, free tool to plot (x,y,z) points on a 3d cartesian coordinate system? (I want to build a 3D chart of nearby stars)
I was hoping this can be done in Excel but I was wrong. I made a list of a few tools (and tried Geogebra) but it seems it is more complicated that it should. I just want to input a csv list of coordinate sets (or input them manually) and get a 3D chart of their positions (ideally, I'd like to be able to rotate it using the mouse and to be able to conditionally format the plot itself based on spectral class and stelar mass). For me this is just a hoby and I was expecting to be able to do this in 15 minutes (after having solved coversion from Right Ascension and Declination to x y z).
