Poses for healing Belly Button Piercing!

Hello, hope you all are having a good day. Long story short I got a belly button piercing in November (2022) and have stopped doing yoga since then to let it heal. The piercing is fine most days with the occasional set back but I feel that I’m ready to get back into my practice. I’m going to take it easy in the beginning and build from there but what kind of poses do you guys think are good poses for a healing piercing. I feel that poses like Chakrasana (wheel pose) are gonna be too much for my piercing especially if I enter them from a standing position, am I being paranoid or dramatic? For all my yogis out there who have done yoga through the healing process please shed some light on my predicament. Thank you 💛🧘‍♀️ 💛.

What kind of yoga for upper back tension? If done right, how effective in relaxing upper back?

Hi all. I have a casual at home yoga practitioner for several years. Recently I have been under a truly remarkable amount of stress and as a result my upper back/ shoulders is gets extremely tight. It is very difficult to release the strain by myself, heat usually helps, sometimes it effects my breathing. I can't breathe all the way in because it's so tight in that area. I also work at a desk so I do alot of sitting. I went to get a massage for the first time and they showed me that my back had a lot of knots in it. They recommend i go to the doctor to get muscles relaxers. I'm not quite into that idea just yet. I am willing to incorporate any yoga routine into my daily life that will alleviate this. Please help. I am male 32 years old not overweight and more flexible than most men.

Entering training hours on Yoga Alliance

Hoping other teachers who are members of Yoga Alliance may be able to help - I'm trying to add my training hours but I'm not seeing her to add each workshop/training individually. Right now, I have every workshop/instructor/location/etc. smushed into a single entry. Is there a way to itemize trainings like you can itemize teaching hours?

pose ideas with no shoulder strength

hi everyone! i found yoga a few years ago and it has slowly become my favorite way to unwind and relax and be in my body. i have since, unfortunately, sustained a shoulder injury. this makes all sorts of things difficult - opening water bottles, driving, holding my arms outstretched (front and side especially, up is not as bad but getting there hurts a bit), and anything involving a plank position. i have been working with a physical therapist and i have an imaging appointment to see whats going on. but! in the meantime, what are your favorite arm variations that are easy on your shoulders? and, what are other poses, modifications, or flows that you have enjoyed? i have some vinyasa modifications i use but what other stuff can i do?

Has anyone encountered this problem and know of a fix?

Heya so I’m having an issue where I don’t know how to quite describe it? So i recently looked at myself in the mirror and noticed every time I do an RDL hip hinge If I go below further in which I can my lower back rounds. Now in yoga I suppose this would be what you call a forward fold but for the life of my pelvis will always round and a dip will appear on the lower back I have no control despite me trying hard to keep my pelvis neutral Or the cue I use is chest to thighs or trying to drop my chest between them. Even if I bend my legs, now I’ve done everything I can but try yoga yet. I’ve tried stretching the hamstrings and hip flexors, strengthened the core. The biggest reason why I wanted to try yoga was to fix my deadlift position in terms of flexibility and mobility I’ve tried stretching the hips with stretches like pigeon pose and couch stretch. To no avail nothing seems to work. Pigeon my back always rounds.

Beginner questions

I’ve just started yoga with the goal of gaining more mobility in my hips, hamstrings and neck/shoulders. I eventually would like to work towards a more ashtanga practice. At the moment I’ve been doing sun salutations every morning to start building strength and get the feel for it. My questions are: #1. Should I include yoga poses/stretches that encourage hip/shoulder opening and hamstrings alongside the sun salutations? #2. Should I include strength training alongside to gain strength to do some of the poses? ex: push ups/core exercises to help with chaturanga dandasana
