1/ *NEW* This @ESA_Webb image features IC 1623, a pair of interacting galaxies plunging headlong into one another. Their collision has ignited a spate of star formation, creating new stars at a rate more than twenty times that of the Milky Way. Read more: https://t.co/cbBpjaRDqm https://t.co/IHRoK5Pm6W

@ESA_Webb 2/ The merger of these two galaxies has previously been imaged by @HUBBLE_space and others. These new observations, including data from Hubble, will help set the stage for future observations of galactic systems with Webb. https://t.co/rolT5bmEAc

Before his Sigma 7 mission, American astronaut Wally Schirra decided to use a Swedish camera that he bought from a nearby store. NASA management liked the results so much, that Hasselblad became the offical brand of cameras used by NASA for still photography until the rise of digital cameras.

This evening, the International Space Station’s Progress 81 thrusters fired for 5 minutes, 5 seconds in a Pre-Determined Debris Avoidance Maneuver (PDAM) to provide the complex an extra measure of distance away from the predicted track of a fragment of Russian Cosmos 1408 debris. The thruster firing occurred at 8:25 p.m. EDT and the maneuver had no impact on station operations. Without the maneuver, it was predicted that the fragment could have passed within about three miles from the station. The PDAM increased the station’s altitude by 2/10 of a mile at apogee and 8/10 of a mile at perigee and left the station in an orbit of 264.3 x 255.4 statute miles. The space station is pictured on Nov. 8, 2021, from the SpaceX Crew Dragon Endeavour during a fly around of the orbiting lab that took place following Endeavour's undocking. #international #space #station #progress #boost #debris #fragment

Need your help guys

Today is a partial solar eclipse so I really want to capture it through my telescope but don't have a filter so is it possible that I can make a solar filter by using X ray film

The station raised its orbit today maneuvering to avoid orbital debris that could have passed within about three miles of the orbiting lab. https://t.co/e4lUZzPvtr
