Does anyone know the meditation term for the proliferation of negative thoughts?

I was listening to Kino MacGregors’ Yoga Inspiration Podcast Episode # 147, and she mentioned a meditation term I could not make out It was a word to describe the proliferation of negative thoughts where point a to b to c, etc, make sense but a-z is insanity. Can you please clarify what that word is? How to achieve Yoga Advanced assanas

Please, help me find some Reddit, YouTube channel, IG or something about how can I learn different strength and balance yoga posses. I'm an upper intermediate level and I'd like to challenge and push myself more to develope skills. I easily could find lots of IG profiles about pictures of difficult assanas but not how to work out to get them done. It's very difficult to me to go to yoga classes now I don't want to stop practicing so I'd like to learn from home. "Which assana should achieve before this one? How can I develope strength to perform it?" I can understand English, Spanish and Portuguese. Thanks!

Bolster for under knees (or easily available substitute) during savasana?

Hi everyone! I’m not new to yoga, but I am returning to it after a significant time away and my body has changed. I find I cannot stay in savasana without propping my knees up 6+ inches, and I haven’t found a prop that adequately works and is transportable to class. Blocks are a little too “square” and pillows or blankets are either too soft or too low. Do you have any recommendations of a prop or an item that can be substituted to help with this? Just looked up yoga bolsters and they are sooo expensive, plus they seem to be for other purposes based on the product description so wasn’t sure if that’s the right way to go. Appreciate any ideas and insight!

Does stopping yoga practice have any negative effects on body, does the changes in body and flexibility gained stays the same or get lost after you stop yoga?

I know this is kind of newbie question but i was wondering whether if anyone suddenly stop yoga practice does any benefits of flexibility achieved due to yoga also get lost with time or it gets restrained, sorry about bad English it is not my first language I have been doing yoga regularly for 3 months 4 to 5 days a week, i was thinking of taking a break, just not feeling to do yoga maybe it's because of cold weather or i don't know.

Practicing after a long period of inactivity - question

Hi everyone! I have started a 30 day yoga program (yoga with Adrienne) after not doing yoga or exercising really at all for 6ish months. I am on day 10. I’ve noticed that my back is hurting more (I have Ankylosing Spondylitis so I try to be super mindful, use modifications, move slow), I’ve also noticed feeling a bit sick and achey, and my depression has increased (I’ve been pretty weepy for a few days and that hasn’t happened since I started my SSRI). My question is: is the yoga perhaps the reason I’m not feeling well? Are toxins being released or something like that? It’s the only major change to my routine. I would really like to push through and complete the 30 days— let me know what y’all think. Thanks for the help!

Questions for retreat facilitators/attendees - What makes a memorable retreat?

Hi all! I am in the midst of planning my first retreat! I wanted to ask our community here your opinion on the ins/outs of attending/hosting a retreat! Facilitators : What was your biggest struggle while planning/hosting? One thing you wish you knew before your first retreat? Things you definitely include in every retreat you host? (& Why?) Any other info you may think is beneficial? Attendees : What are some things you really enjoy while on a retreat? What price is accessible to you/feel comfortable investing in? (Local vs International) How many days is ideal? What do you hope to take away when you sign up to attend? Has there been anything on past retreats that did not feel good to you? (Anything a facilitator did, activities that didn't feel good, thoughts on areas of growth to create a space you feel good in?) Any other information that comes to mind is greatly appreciated!

beginner questions

I've done a couple yoga classes for beginners over the years , I'm relatively athletic , have done strength training my whole life and flexibility is also pretty decent so I adapt easily to exercises. I'm trying to seriously get into it though I've used various YouTube videos lately and the area I'm from not a lot of guys out there doing yoga (I'm from the south) so that kinda fills in the gaps. classes aren't really an option and usually only women so I wouldn't want make them feel uncomfortable being the only male in a class and I just can't afford it . What are some good instructional videos and or literature to look up? I know there are many variations and styles of yoga and I'm sorta ignorant to the Culture . Any advice an tips are welcomed, thanks/gracias

Prenatal yoga - Blood rushing to head during down dog?

Hi! I’m 24 weeks pregnant and finally have the energy to get back into a light yoga practice. I’ve noticed that I can’t stay in downward-facing dog for too long because I get the feeling of too much blood rushing to my head. I know pregnancy increases the volume of blood in the body, but this felt surprising because I usually love hanging out in down dog and never felt that strain. Did anyone else feel the same when pregnant? Any tips to mitigate?
