Seeking yoga diagrams with non-intimidating models/posture expressions
My husband has expressed an interest in starting yoga but gets discouraged by the disparity in his abilities and how the pose is shown in the ultimate expression. I’d love to show him a chart/pictures with an out of shape yogi just trying their best in each pose. Male preferably so he can see himself in it. YouTube classes that fit this description are welcome as well.

Rant/ Please wash your self - of FEET before doing a class
Ranting - joined a class (Corepower Yoga) the other day, the person next to me smelled so bad. Then as I was suffering to this shit - realized that as her feet got closer to my mat the smell got worse. Such a fucken disregard for other people - ruined my workout.

Mind/body parallel
Today during the group yoga practice the teacher told us that we’ll focus a lot on poses which strengthen and activate the heart chakra. I find back-bend poses (like the ones we practiced today) to be the easiest and most rewarding for me, yet ironically, in my day to day life, I find it extremely difficult to deal with emotions and feelings. Could there be an explanation for this?

Question on shoes...
So the last few times I planned to run I did a yoga warmup video first that has you do it all with your shoes on. Personally, it feels icky to put my shoes on my mat and like the treads might tear my (admittedly cheap but it's pretty so I love it) mat, but I like having the padding to stretch out on. Do you put your shoes on your mat? Do you keep a separate mat for workouts involving sneakers? That feels like overkill considering I'm coming right back home and cooling down in the same space without my shoes. I'm probably way overthinking this. All I know for sure is that I used to feel like I'd been hit by a truck the day after a run before I started doing yoga as a cool down.

Practice after being sick
Hi! I'm recovering from COVID again (second time this year 😑) and I really miss doing yoga. I'm not well enough today to do intense poses, but I wonder if you'd recommend asanas/breathing exercises that could help me to get back into practice slowly and who knows, maybe even feel better sooner. Thanks 🙏

Slippery suede mat
I purchased a suede travel mat for an upcoming trip. The description said it was also great for hot yoga, so I took it to class with me and I found it to be SO slippery. FWIW I didn’t dampen the mat before class. The bottom of the mat is rubber, and seems to stay in place fine but the top is so so slippery. I would love any feedback you all have. Do I need to break it in? How does one do that? Thanks friends.

Inclusive YTTs (in Europe or online)?
I practiced yoga for years before my practice came to an abrupt ending due to health reasons. I'm a bit better now but I don't know if it'll stay that way. However I'm still interested in deepening my knowledge and practice. Do any of you know of a YTT, preferably 200h, that welcomes all bodies and (dis)abilities?

Exploring Yoga and Its Benefits
Yoga is a traditional Indian practice that has been around for over 5,000 years. It is an ancient discipline that encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual practices. The word “yoga” comes from the Sanskrit word “yuj,” which means to unite or to join. The practice of yoga aims to unite the mind, body, and spirit, leading to a state of balance, harmony, and inner peace. In this article, we will explore the emergence of International Yoga Day, the benefits of practicing yoga, and various yoga poses and their significance. Check out my blog to learn more. Anyone know of any online resources with Indian instructors?
Hello everyone, With BLM and the increasing expanse of POC voices, are there any resources you've found for online yoga instructors who are \~actually\~ South Asian? I ask as an someone who's ethnically desi (but have been raised outside the country States) but have found it difficult to find non-white instructors, and even more difficult to find popular Indian instructors. I signed up for Yoga International's free trial & am a little bummed that there's not a single Indian instructor & that in general the instructors aren't diverse. I hope this isn't offensive to anyone. I'm just looking to practice yoga and have it presented by the people whose culture it originated with. Thanls
