Thought all my fellow yogis would get a little chuckle out of this. š Sorry if this is a repost.

How did yoga help your cognitive/brain fog challenges?
I've been struggling with intense brain fog, depression, disautonomia, dizziness, insomnia, a whole slew of depressing symtpoms. If you've experienced this and turned to yoga, I'm curious how a practice has helped you.

Does this exercise/movement exist?
We are all familiar with the Cobra pose -- and here I am referring more to the full/complete cobra pose where one's feet touch the back of the head. While I'll grant that I cannot do this and may be mistaken, this seems to be mostly a matter of lowering the back and shoulders towards the hips. As I was hanging from a pullup bar after doing "toes to bar", I decided to test how far I could bend my body the other way. (Spoiler: not very far). This made me wonder if anyone has ever encountered what would effectively be a cobra stretch from a hanging position that requires the opposite technique: shoulders are locked in place and the legs and hips must rise to meet them. To me, this seems to approach physiological impossibility, but I'd love to hear more experienced folks' opinions. If anyone has encountered this or anything close (significant activation of the posterior chain for a back bend while hanging), please let me know the name of the move or where you found it!

Would love advice for chaturanga
Iāve been trying to be mindful of form (arms perpendicular to ground, weight shifted forward) but I still feel like I am sinking into the pose, my chest falls closer to the ground below my shoulders, and I donāt know how to change this!

Help with chair yoga
Iām trying to help my Yoga instructor wife out. She was asked to lead some chair yoga classes for the elderly and she is struggling to keep it interesting for the hour long classes. She has done two so far. Any resources or recommendations would be supremely helpful.

r/yogafitness
A while back I created the sub: r/yogafitness This was in response to witnessing many combative discussions about what is and isnāt yoga. Yoga can be many different things to many different people. Because of this r/yogafitness was created to be a place for secular yoga discussions. Focusing on the physical health, fitness, and exercise aspects of yoga. Leaving the divisive spiritual aspects to this sub. I feel creating separate spaces will reduce the conflicts, spam, and give each sub a clearer focus. I didnāt have much time to foster itās growth and moderate so itās currently empty. But this is an invitation to join and contribute if it interests you. Post about your physical fitness journey with yoga, milestones, āCheck out my poseās, ask for advice, post cool gear, etc. If any one would like to moderate feel free to message me. This is not meant to be a combative post but one that respects our differences. Peace!

naked yoga, does it make you feel more grounded?
when i first started doing yoga a few times a week, i would do it naked. honestly, doing this has helped me tremendously. over the past few months, my self image has gotten so much better. i used to hate my body, the boniness, the nonexistent curves, my posture, my everything basically. i hated my face without makeup. i refused to leave the house without mascara, i used to sleep in it because i hated how i looked without it. now, i rarely wear makeup. literally like once or twice a month. i frequently find myself admiring how i look after a shower or when getting dressed, i no longer worry about what i look like, because i like how i look. i feel like being in your most true form (being naked) helps you appreciate it just the way it is, you feel calm when you are naked, so it inspires calm thoughts. i love doing this, i wonder if anyone else does it?

Need help creating a flow?
Has anyone tried ChatGPT to create their yoga flows? Iāve seen a few posts lately about yogis looking for ways to create flows. So this morning I thought Iād see what AI could do and it gave me this. Iām not saying this could or should replace classes, but this seems helpful for a place to start.

A month of Yoga. Twice a week. Wanting to ramp it up.
Last night was end of my month of unlimited yoga. However, I only manage to do stuff on my days off because I work a late swing. Plus getting up and motivated in the morning is a challenge with my sleep issues. I have noticed a lot of benefits so far. Tho I am also noticing things I severely need to work on. My quads and hip flexors make childs pose almost painful. Downward Dog isn't flush with tight calves and hamstrings. Same with all forward bends. Weakness with shoulders upper body in downward dog, plank, yoga push ups. Stiff shoulders and chest. (T Spine?) Part of my hips are an issue while the other not so bad. Rapid transitions between Standing, Forward Bends, to Plank Downward Dog and back make me sweat more than the elliptical at 15 resistance. How do I go about hitting these areas on the daily at home?
