Is it rude to sleep through a yoga class?
Hey Yogis! I’ve been doing hot yoga for the past 8 months. It makes me feel incredibly grounded and serene and just…glowy. Sometimes if I have a late party night I will book a 8 am class and just lay down in shavasanah and sleep while I sweat out all the tequila toxin. The instructor pulled me aside after class and said I was being distracting. I guess when I sleep I was flatulating (I’m not sure if this is true). She is threatening to cancel my membership if I show up in that state again. Am tempted to switch yoga gyms because I feel like they are not being very accommodating. Am I in the wrong? Nàmãsté

Am I weird for crying in seated forward fold?
Long story short, my physio has steered me towards yoga for a few reasons (a few of them private). As someone with hypermobility it's been very humbling to struggle with... A lot of the poses. (looking at you, downward dog) I'm struggling to achieve seated forward fold. Standing forward fold is palms to the floor (with a very slow, controlled breathing descent), but I am literally frozen up in the seated variant. So I've been directed to yoga blocks and variants in the meantime. The thing is... Anytime I try the blocks, or with my hands on the wall. I feel like a taut wire. And then I break down into tears either during the pose, or after I come out of it. I've heard of emotional release, but I was led to believe that it usually happens with hip openers like pigeon or child. I can't find anything online about forward folds causing release. So... Am I weird or doing something wrong? (and why am I so bad at it?)

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to put an Apple Airtag on their mat or case?
Last week I messed up and I left my really nice(and pricey) Manduka mat in the locker room. I realized my mistake the next day and it was gone. Unfortunately, I had to by another one. This time I'm hoping to cut down on the chances of losing it if it were stolen. I also ordered a new carrying case. This is the case: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NH50FK9?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NH50FK9?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) I'm thinking about hiding an AirTag inside the bag part. Maybe this will help. Has anyone else done anything similar?

How do you incorporate music into a Yin Yoga class?
Incorporating music into a Yin Yoga session may improve the environment and increase the relaxation and personal experience. Begin by choosing peaceful, relaxing music that suits the slow timing of Yin Yoga. Consider instrumental songs, ambient noises, or relaxing tunes that promote relaxation. To create a serene atmosphere, play music at the start of the lesson. Allow the music to dictate the speed of position changes, resulting in a smooth flow. Make sure the volume stays in the background and doesn't drown out the lecture or the students' breathing. During a Yin Yoga session, well-selected music may stimulate emotions, strengthen the connection to the practice, and help the path of inner inquiry.

Light on Yoga: Alphabetical pose index?
Does an alphabetical index of asanas in BKS Iyengar's Light on Yoga exist? And if so, where? I like having some things on paper, and I have searched high and low for such an index and can't find it. We Iyengarians are pretty detailed-oriented by definition, so it's hard for me to imagine no one has ever done this. (Neither the book's index or it's list of asanas are what I am looking for. The former is very incomplete, and the latter isn't an alphabetical list in any language.) Thanks!

I’ve been doing yoga almost every day for a couple months. It never occurred to me that it shouldn’t be done daily or it’s “too much yoga.” I try to do a more intense vinyasa at least 3/week and the rest are Hatha

Is swaying in tadasana with eyes closed, feet together normal?
If you look through my post history you'll notice I've had issues with my ears, and a feeling of unsteadiness for 6 weeks, but I've been cleared by ENT and PT. Yoga has become a frame of reference for how I perceive my balance before and after these feelings of off-balance. I feel like I'm swaying a lot in tadasana with eyes closed, feet together, is this normal? It feels like I was steadier before. Tree pose is also doable, but I only last seconds with my eyes closed. Same with warrior 3, it works quite well eyes open but closed is tricky. I'm just checking what my expectations should be, and what is deemed normal balance wise? I might just be focusing too much on this, and therefore my frame of reference might've gotten weird.
