When the instructor says ______,
I went to a class today and the teacher kept referring to the savasana as "delicious" and "yummy." I thought I misheard it the first time and she kept going... more emphasis each time. At one time I questioned if I was an extra in an adult film. "This pose is sooooOooOo yuuuuuUuUuMmmy, yeah!" I ended my savasana early and left. What are phrases yall don't vibe with?

Question for teachers
I’m naturally curious about business models and such. Being that my yoga is kind of sacred to me...I‘ve always avoided giving much thought to the business model of a yoga studio. Lately, the thought has been creeping into my head more and more. How much does a teacher get paid per class? I know my studio was really struggling during the pandemic and donated part of my covid relief checks to them. I honestly hope they’re doing better now. But...the business part of my head just can’t equate how they even make money. Many classes have 2 or 3 students. Even if rounded off to $20 a class, that’s only $40. How much does the teacher get? Do they rely mostly on teacher training for profit? Sorry if this question bothers folks. I can’t ask the owners at my studio. Last time I asked how business was one of the owners had tears in her eyes and I felt horrible (:

Manduka PRO vs X
I am looking into getting a Manduka and have a few questions about the Pro and the X. I am not entirely sure about the difference, I get the PRO is heavier, since it's 6mm vs the X's 5mm and the X is targeted towards a mix between yoga and general fitness. Is it tarted for fitness because it's lighter, or is there any other reason why the Pro wouldn't be as good. I'll use mine generally more with fitness than yoga, and wonder if the X is a better buy than the Pro for my use case. Also, I know the Manduka is quite slippery, and a Manduka towel would be necessary for more intensive exercising, and I wonder how well the towel works. For general fitness would it make more sense to buy a yoga mat that doesn't require a towel for intensive exercising, or doesn't it matter? For example, does it stay completely in place, or do anything that would hinder any given movement, vs a non-slippery yoga mat. Thanks in advance.

Creating a new class, desperately need help with the name.
So a little background, I recently got the ok at my home studio (where I did TT) to teach a restorative yoga class but the studio is a hot yoga studio and teaches exclusively Power yoga. This would be the first non hot, non power class since Covid and so much has changed since. The director is super supportive and but he wants me to make it so any power yoga student would be willing to do it - or see the value in it I guess. I know everyone has their own preferences in yoga, whether you’re yin, hatha, ashtanga, Power etc but I really don’t know what I would call it so that it would capture the restorative part that I think our students really need without seeming too sleepy. Thoughts? So grateful for you guys 🤍

Is it possible?
I LOVE yoga! I’m considering becoming certified yoga teacher very soon! However I travel a lot, was wondering if it’s possible to take my teachings over the road also and still make a bit of income? Or am I dreaming?

Yoga after surgery
I’m currently two weeks post op for a surgery that was in my groin. I can’t exercise for another two weeks and I’d be in too much pain to anyway. But I have such a bad tension in my neck, shoulders and lower back (probably from spending time in hospital and lots of sitting/lying around, as well as being deconditioned due to injury.) I’ve been doing a chair sequence of neck and shoulder release by Adriene which really helps. But is there anything I can for my low back without sitting on the ground? It’s honestly almost more painful than the surgery to be this right just above the hips. Any help welcome!
