Doug Aitken’s multiscreen installation at Regen Projects captures the artist’s new series of fabric banners as they roam empty, urban spaces like phantom presences moving through the wind. Activated by dancers from the LA Dance Project, their movements explore the unseen and hidden worlds of interior thought. Speaking about the project in a recent interview with Deborah Vankin for the Los Angeles Times, Aitken said, ‘All these spaces, which were once filled with activity, were suddenly empty and dormant. And in my imagination, I visualized that all these spaces that were sort of neglected and empty could be activated, could come to life. And we could perform in them, create these choreographies, and that would become the DNA for the film.’ Visit our stories to read the full interview. dougaitkenworkshop #DougAitken #FlagsandDebris deborahvankin latimes #RegenProjects

Lawrence Weiner’s ‘ALL THE STARS IN THE SKY HAVE THE SAME FACE,’ 2011/20, is a two-story, building-wide banner in red, white, and blue installed on the Jewish Museum’s Fifth Avenue façade in New York. Presented in Hebrew, Arabic, and English, the artwork’s unifying sentiment urges us to think collectively and to imagine all that we can accomplish by working together. Visit our stories to watch a recent interview with Weiner produced on the occasion of the installation, which is on view through Spring 2021. Photo: Liz Ligon. thejewishmuseum #LawrenceWeiner

Ayumi Shibata constructs these intricately layered paper cities and landscapes. Sometimes they fit in the palm of her hand, and other times they're expansive enough to pass through on foot https://t.co/DRnVho9oa5 https://t.co/7RCd21Hd6Y
