Vendor
I feel embarrassed posting on this sub because everyone seems to be doing bigger things. But I’m just an 18 year old who started vending at local pop up events for fun. I decided I actually really like being a vendor, and I was wondering what steps I’d need to make this a career for me. I don’t have any employees, I work from home. I made/source my products, then show up at the event and sell to hundreds of folks. Pack up, go home and count the profit. It’s very simple so I assumed I wouldn’t need much to make this work but I wanna seek advice from others who have more experience.

Should I be keeping my pricing strategy secret?
Hi, I operate a small family business that installs a home product and was wondering if I should be concerned about competitors calling in fake quotes to get our pricing? I’m kind of paranoid about it to the point where I will do reverse phone number and addresses searches to make sure each person that calls really is who they say they are before making up quotes. We just get a lot of no call backs after giving quotes and I’ve verified with probably 8 or 9 competitors that our price is lower than theirs so I don’t understand why we would be getting so many no call backs. We’ve gotten 5 or 6 in the past two weeks. We sell the same exact product as most of them. Should I keep doing this or just accept the fact I can’t keep our prices secret? I don’t have much experience running a business and the know how that comes with aspects like this. Is it important to protect our pricing strategy or not? I spend and waste a lot of time worrying about it.

Aside from registering my LLC, should I trademark my logo before launching my social media?
First timer here, wanting to start my own Shopify brand that deals with cosmetics, my own formulations. I'm at the point where the branding identity is complete, and I just have to launch the social medias and websites for pre-orders, whilst going on my marketing campaign. Should I be concerned about getting my logo trademarked, or is it better to wait for a bit? I spoke to a trademark attorney over this, and he suggested I give him my LLC name and business address, so he can file the application. He mentioned a $900 fee + state filing fees, bringing the total to $1300. He then mentioned something about showing the USPTO officer the packaging, so getting them to look at it, which would bring the final cost to around $1750, all in. I'm really new to the idea of trademarking and protecting my logo, hence I was wondering what is the best way to start this business without infringing or being infringed upon.
