I created a Discord server for entrepreneurs and small business owners. Absolutely no selling, no promotion, no spam.

Sorry in advanced if this is spam! Over the years I've become more and more frustrated that there aren't actual communities strictly for entrepreneurs/business owners that aren't entirely focused around the owner selling them something, or the members trying to sell to each other. IRL networking events are just people slumped over in their chairs until its their turn to hand out business cards. I just created a business owner Discord with the sole intention of having a place for likeminded people to hang out, discuss issues they're having, share stories, etc. Most importantly, there is an absolute 0 tolerance policy for sales/spam. No sales, no promotions, no nothing - an actual community, as rare as that is. If you're interested, just comment here and I'll send you a link - I think automod will delete it. See you there

Fake 5 star reviews

I noticed my Google listing dropping and noticed a few competitors accounts with 300+ reviews in the past couple months. Some look real but most look fake, one guy I know and it sounds like he wrote them. I have a good service and rating but it seems like I can’t really compete unless I do the same. I know it’s “illegal” but Google clearly doesn’t care. I can use a vpn and a device emulator and go nuts but it feels wrong. I guess you can’t have morals and run a business anymore. Any suggestions?

I realize that many small businesses start off as sole proprietorships/partnerships and then move to LLC, but, did you eventually move to C corp for the structure for your small business? I was not sure if there maybe was advantages/disadvantages in moving to the C corp structure,as opposed to LLC?

Website design/copy

I’m looking for recommendations or advice. I have a small business with a website and I know that it is getting lots of traffic but it is not generating any leads. Is there a good place to look for someone that can help with a redesign or rewriting the content to make it more successful?

Transferring Personal inventory to my LLC for online selling.

I recently incoporated an LLC in Texas for online reselling. Essentially i am buying items from Estate Sales and selling them on Etsy, eBay etc. Also, I have collected rare/vintage books, legos and other items over the past 6 years. My question is how do I transfer my collection to the LLC for selling? Is it as simple as transferring assets to my LLC for equity and marking it in my records as a investment into the LLC? The LLC is jointly owned by my wife and I.

How can I achieve my dream business?

I'm just graduating high school and know for a fact I want to create a doll business. I love dolls and they've been my obsession since I was little. I design outfits (for dolls) and collect dolls as hobbies. The funny thing is I don't know how to actually make a product. I have made dolls before, but it's not budget friendly. I don't understand prototypes. I only know design and know nothing about execution. Any advice?

Building a martial arts studio for kids, need video solution to watch classes live and see recorded videos from the past week. CCTV recommendations?

I have Ring at home but I don't think I can go back a week, plus it's kind of expensive for what I need. Also I need a solution for Bluetooth audio, as well as a mic, if you've bothered reading this far. Thank you!!

Nexus question/remote seller

Ok I am just forming sole prop and have a lot of dumb questions... If I don't make the nexus requirement for a state, and therefore do not have TPT license in the state, that means that buyer pays use tax, correct? But, how are those transactions reported to their state if I have no license in said state? Is it just piece-meal - sent in with every use tax payment - which I as the seller don't even do? TL:DR - I believe I understand the concept of nexus/use tax, but how does the remote state learn about the transaction? PS - Wow use tax.... does every business in the world just collect and remit as a courtesy? How would you even go about that? Any insight IMMENSILY appreciated....

Quick books for new business

My better half started a business selling a children’s card game and posters with the characters from the cards. We have online orders and we do a ton of farmer’s markets. We’ve been keeping track of orders with excel so far, but it’s starting to take off and we need to upgrade to a real accounting system. Which version of quick books should we use or should we use something else?

Liability Insurance Question/Planning for IT Consulting LLC - Crossposted to LLC

LLC For IT Consulting - Liability Insurance After 10+ years in IT, I decided to launch my own consulting practice selling my services directly to clients. I am currently working through some contract discussions and ideas. Is it best to wait for contracts before applying for liability insurance through my company, or scope for standard insurance requirements across a few clients and find a general middle ground, and adjust as needed? Or is it kind of case by case? IE, once contract rewarding service is State owned so I wait for the insurance requirements for them before applying. I am considering 1099’ing to a few other clients as well, also tech companies, so just trying to see what the general consensus may be if folks had ideas. Thank you!

Looking for Cloud-Based Inventory Software - Not Happy with Zoho

I am an e-commerce reseller and am constantly buying different lots. I've been using Zoho for inventory, and I really dislike it, especially the reporting functionality. I'm looking to move to something better, but I'm pretty clueless about the various options. My preference is a standalone inventory system (I'm not looking to use the inventory features within QuickBooks or an Excel spreadsheet). I'm not a huge seller by any means, but I would like something that can scale as I grow. If anyone has any recommendations or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Are Facebook ads pointless or am I the problem?

I'm trying to help my wife get some more sales for her online candle and home fragrance store. I set up some ads on Facebook. We have two running. One for a discount over the weekend and another more generic showing our products with customer reviews. Nothing complicated or over the top. They're clean, and to the point and use professional photos. However, they're just not converting. We're not even getting clicks through to the site, let alone a sale. Is this likely something I'm doing wrong or are they just pointless? I tested the water with £10 per day, kept the audience broad and ensured they only show up in the countries we sell, but nothing... Not sure where to turn for help. Has anyone run a successful campaign and have any tips or tricks for me. Many thanks.

TurboTax: Premier vs. Self Employed

I've been using Premier for years, now I see they have a "self-employed" version. I don't see any differences between Premier and Self-Employed: [https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/self-employed.jsp](https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/self-employed.jsp)
