I have read so many horror stories here about Yelp. Are there any other companies that are better?

How to collect 30k in debt from a California company as an Oregon small business?

I own a small trucking business in Oregon and had a very good client earn credit with us that they ran up to about 30k and then just ghosted us after years. How do I go about collecting it? I reached out to a few collections agencies but mostly that just ended with spam calls about subscription requests and upfront costs. So far the small attorneys I have contacted have not felt confident collecting from California. I don't want to chase bad money with good money but it's a very large amount for us as a small business. Any help would be appreciated.

Mileage Reimbursements

I have an employee who works as Operations/Sales Manager for my translation/interpretation business. Part of their job is to travel by car to meet customers and also provide services as an interpreter. As part of the employee agreement, we agreed to cover all their miles at the GSA rate. They have been working for almost a year now and we're averaging nearly $1,800 a month in mileage reimbursements. I don't question the amount of travel. Almost travel is essential to business operations. I'm not sure about the $1,800 costs I'm incurring. Could buy a car at this point... I want to cap the travel reimbursement. Perhaps give them a gas card and/or cover their oil changes. I know they'll probably be upset because they probably count on that $1,800/month as "additional income". Anyone have experience with finding a win-win solution for high mileage reimbursements?

I was reading about starting/operating a small business..but..how in the world does a person keep track of records so that if they get audited they have literally whatever the IRS would want? I had no idea how extensive the record keeping was and how to do it properly/what software needed/etc?

My company is in bottleneck and I need advice

We manufacture and sell kid apparel (customizable special occasion dresses like pageant girl dresses) and we sell online (etsy, amazon, shopify) We grow fast (in 1 year) we are at 3 years and we get same amount of orders.We did nothing different than the beginning (ads, social media, influencers etc.) we get the same amount of order every month. Whatever I do, (increase ad spent, spread to other platforms, increase product number, better content at social media etc.) I cannot increase the number. I wanted to go for wholesale, but couldn’t find any customers. What would be your suggestion to move forward? This bottleneck is killing me

Question about taxes for LLC

Hello, just created an LLC in march and had had a question about Taxes. I’m 51 % owner and my partner 49% while setting up the book keeping account it is noted that it is only for one person. My confusion comes in where both of us would have our own write offs separately , plus we both have write offs that would be shared . Do we each just use 51/49 of those expenses? Thanks in advance

I filed for my Ca llc on 4/17/23 on line. It still is under the “pending review” process. Is there something else I need to be doing to get my LLC approved? Thank you

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing great! I've had my business now for 2 years. And my biggest problem as been online sales. I've tried many many many many things. From a complete website redesign, to hauling a lot of my SEO in the background and also re writing a lot of my text. It's still and ongoing issue although has got better. I would LOVE your help on rating and giving me some pointers of improving it! Criticism is what I need. Please note! I'm a one man band. I've done everything from designing the website to creating it from start to finish, SEO! And my budget is what Ive invested from my minimum wage full time job. This has been my other issue. California - "Doing Business" and Nexus - Seeking advice

I have an Illinois S-Corp that does Cloud consulting services fully remotely by me while sitting in Illinois. I have a contract to perform services with a Delaware C-Corp with its principal offices in California. All work will be done remotely and I will never step foot in CA. Regarding California economic nexus and "doing business", they appear to have a much broader definition than every other state, and are more likely to go after offenders. Assuming this statement will apply to me/is true (Sales in California: the lesser of $610,395 and 25% of the entity’s total sales), I'm wondering if I'll need to register in California and pay the minimum franchise tax, or if the fact it's a Delaware C-Corp may save me from that.
