Do we have any idea how the debt ceiling situation is going to effect NASA?
So apparently we're potentially going to hit the debt ceiling as early as June 1st. Republicans in the house have passed a debt ceiling bill that also cuts all discretionary spending by 20% (or maybe 22%), which would presumably also apply to the NASA budget, but that has no chance of actually passing the Senate or white house. My center leadership hasn't said a word about any of this to us. Does anyone have any insider info on whether cuts to the our budget are coming as part of a debt ceiling bill? Has anyone gotten any guidance about what will happen if we actually hit the limit? Will we be furloughed? Will it be like a government shutdown? Will we still work but not get paid? I feel like no one has any idea.
