Customer Complaining about not receiving product - What to do small buisiness

Hi, I'm new to this small business world and one of my customers is complaining they haven't received their product. However, upon looking at the USPS tracking, it says it was picked up by the customer at the local post office. However, the customer keeps emailing they don't have it and never received it. "saying they were out of the country," so there was no way they had picked it up. I can't send a new product because it was quite expensive 110$ USD How should I move forward? I'm a small business based in Canada and I used ChitChat to send my products to the US. I don't want to send a new product/ send a refund because it is an expensive product. How do I know this customer isn't lying? I told the customer to contact usps but they keep haggling me to "fix this"

How to counter predatory pricing/ selling at cost?

I’m in the building supply industry and our location has been running for over 25 years now. Our store prides itself on expertise and sourcing local quality products. We were the only supplier in the area, and within a decade, 3 other stores opened up within 600m radius of our location. All stores have much more capital then we do as they are from China and import straight from the country on a lot of their product. Although some of the products may be cheaper than local, the quality is not comparable. But many contractors don’t seem to care and are interested in lower prices then longevity. As for products that you can only get locally, they are more then comfortable selling at cost or max 5% margin. While we aim for 20-30%. While most of these other stores move quantity at cheaper rates, what are something’s a smaller business with low capital can do to counter this type of pricing war?

Mezzanine question

Hi All, my boss is considering purchasing a steel mezzanine to put in our warehouse so we can run a couple production lines above and below. The problem is the one he is looking at has a mesh floor and we cannot have dirt and debris falling into the below production area. Does anyone know of a screening or catch that we could hang underneath to prevent debris from landing on the people underneath? We are trying to avoid having to go with a solid floor if possible.

Struggling Store

Been running my online store for a few months, but haven't made any sales. I've tried TikToks, Instagram, FB ads, but nothing seems to work. I feel like I'm doing everything I can but not getting results. Any advice on what to do next?

Businesses are bound to make mistakes and disappoint their customers. But how you build your apology message can make the difference between losing those customers or increasing their loyalty. Here’s how to write an effective apology message. 📝 Restore lost value. Offer to repair the situation to secure the attention and trust of your customers. 📝 Acknowledge responsibility. Distinguish between offering an excuse for what happened and accepting responsibility for the mistake. 📝 Explain the problem and identify the root cause. They want to know that it won’t happen again. 📝 Describe how you will fix the issue. Be specific. 📝 Express your regret. This will sound more sincere after you’ve thoroughly addressed their concerns. Adapted from “How to Apologize to a Customer When Something Goes Wrong,” by Tim Riesterer.

E-commerce website or Etsy

I currently have a store I run on Shopify. It’s ok but also renewing will be pricy. I’m thinking of maybe using just Etsy but I don’t think I get the fb and IG features I sell pillar candles so Etsy works. Does anyone have any input on this? Pros of only Etsy? Please delete if this isn’t allowed.

In need of a better software solution

I'm currently over-seeing a good 50+ facilities and am looking to find something more optimized that better fits my needs. I'm utilizing OneNote at the moment but it's quickly becoming more of a problem than a solution for what I'm trying to do. Essentially, I'm looking for a sort of Project Management software that will allow me to create silos for each state, and then have containers within those silos for each facility that will allow me to add documents, notes, and photos all in one easy to view area. I realize I could do this within Sharepoint or Google Drive, but I'm looking for something that kind of has it all in one easy to overview location (think of it kind of like a newspaper, where I'm able to have photos of equipment, notes under that, then more photos of different aspects of the facility, notes under that, etc.) and also have it allow me easy navigation to other facilities so that I can quickly view/edit things.

How Do Start a Small Business for Massage in Florida?

I've been a licensed and insured massage therapist for 11+ years, most of my career working with the Massage Envy franchise. I gained a lot of experience and know-how on how to physically run a massage business/spa but none of the clerical stuff. I would like to go off on my own, have a massage LLC where I rent a suite and work out of it. Sole proprietor, may share rent costs with another independent contractor if it ever came about. I don't know how to start! What kind of things I need to know, what taxes are what.. I just feel clueless! I want to learn so I can independently provide for myself like I know I'm capable of. I just need some guidance please! 🙏🏼🥺🥲

Marketing Tip Needed!

Hello everyone! As a local restaurant owner for 2 years, I'm curious to know what successful marketing approaches you've used to advertise your business to locals. I've heard that TikTok is the go-to platform for marketing nowadays, but I'm not sure if that's true. Have you experienced a positive impact on your sales after marketing your business on TikTok? I would love to hear your thoughts and insights as small business owners. Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences!

What do you think about my company website?

Hello! I got approval from a moderator to post this survey. CR8T Studio is a nine-month start-up that creates no-code websites and apps. We have recently updated our website and want to understand what business owners who are currently in need of an app or website think of it. If you want to give feedback on the website, we invite you to take a five-minute survey. The link is in the comment. In exchange for doing so, if you have any questions about conducting user research on your product/ service, please message me with them, as this is what I specialize in.

Getting an LLC as a military spouse?

So I have absolutely no knowledge on LLC’s; I didn’t realize you have to make it by state? My issue with this is I am consistently moving every few years, so Im not sure where to file my LLC at. My state of residence is Washington state so I figured to do it there even if I don’t live there anymore and most likely never will. I am starting a videography business and need an LLC to start write offs on my equipment. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
