The world's largest lithium producer, Sociedad Química y Minera (SQM), is down nearly 10% after Chilean constitutional elections

Chilean equities are taking a big hit today after the country's voters overwhelmingly chose left-wing and independent candidates for the country's upcoming constitutional convention, rather than those favored by the ruling center-right government. Major losers include Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile SA (SQM), the world's largest producer of lithium; Embotelladora Andina SA (AKO-A; AKO-B), one of South America's major Coca-Cola bottlers and distributors; electric company Enel (ENIC); and Banco Santander Chile (BSAC). Any new constitution proposed will have to be approved by voters in a referendum, likely sometime next year. If voters reject it, the present constitution, dating back to the era of dictator Augusto Pinochet, will remain in effect.

Simple IRA vs simple 401K

For a couple years now we have done a SEP IRA for ourselves and our eligible employees. We want to do a simple IRA or simple 401K this year instead. I'm getting bits and pieces of information from the internet, but I can't really figure out the difference between these two. I understand that the simple 401K can only match up to $290,000 in wages? Is there anything else to consider between these two?

Healing Huts

Tranquil, ergonomic and cosy mini huts that we can set up in people’s gardens. A refuge and sanctuary for meditation or just peace, quiet and reflection! We are more digitally connected than ever, but most of us far less connected with ourselves than people were in the past. In the endless rush to ‘get things done’ we forget to truly care for ourselves and give us space to simply be. This is especially when people live in busy households and don’t get quality time to themselves... Features can include mood lighting and a ceiling that opens up to the stars!

Filing LLC on my own

Hello, In the state of Iowa, it seems very simple to file for your own LLC. I have my EIN and figured out everything online already. However, the Certificate of Organization is the only part that's tripping me up. I think I found the form online. Do I just fill out this, then upload it on the SOS's site where you can organize an LLC? If so, do I put my own info for the Registered Agent? Or is there a different form if I'm doing it on my own? Thank you! [Iowa LLC - Certificate of Organization (llcuniversity.com)](https://www.llcuniversity.com/wp-content/uploads/Iowa-LLC-Certificate-of-Organization.pdf)

Neighborhood home improvement equipment rental

Lawn and garden tools, heavy machinery—tools that you don't use very often would benefit from easy access rental. Are there co-ops or other orgs I could check out that do this? Do big box stores offer much for rental besides trucks? I'm thinking repairs and maintenance expenses along with the startup capital would be important factors to consider. Is there a sustainable business model that works for this?

Where to find how-to for email marketing without services (mailchimp, constant contact, etc.)

So a pal has an opportunity to expand a small online shop related to her normal source of income, and I suggested starting an email newsletter. I was curious, so google-fu'd my way to the regulations and best practices to follow beyond simple automated send-offs from email lists. Are there any online resources for newsletter development that aren't just blog ads selling mailchimp-like services? If I can set up a simple database and design a newsletter that won't get itself blacklisted, I would 100% set it up for her and use that experience to start my own. I have the skills of a seasoned junior web developer (though not one), so you can get technical with advice. If I'm successful, I will come back to this sub with a quality account of how it went. TLDR; I want to DIY what mailchimp does but found few resources describing bottom up development and management of email newsletters. Suggestions? Thank you

SQQQ swing play then TQQQ?

I'm thinking of awesome strategies to take advantage of developments in the market and was wondering if you guys could let me know if I'm on the right track here. Looking at October and February/March, charts look identical to how there was a dip, spike, dip to bottom, then slow stablization between the collapses. Last Friday we appear to have had the spike up before the 2nd dip to the bottom period. Judging by this the next 2 weeks will be deep red for the QQQ, and SQQQ may be a very good play. In fact, I'm already up 4% in SQQQ today alone. Does anyone see any reason why it's not a good idea to hold SQQQ for a 2 week period that is pretty much a 100% sure thing for the market to be tanking, and then buy in TQQQ to get tripple gains for a few months? I heard the thing about decay, but would decay apply for short term 1-2 week investment periods?

Need Help with filing for Sales Tax License

Hello everyone, i am currently trying to file for the PA-100, sales tax id, and I have a question regarding one of the other options the department of revenue of providing. There is one option called "Employer Witholding, 1099 MISC/NEC" and I think should check this option, there are boxes that I can check if i'd like to register for it. However, I am not sure if this is needed. Here is additional information, I have an LLC, and its a single-member LCC, with me being the 100% owner. I know the taxes will pass through to my personal taxes but should I register for the Employment Withholding even If i am the sole member. I would like to have employees in the future but my business is so new that i can't get new employees at the moment. Thank you for your time

Owning a private island is so passé. How about an active volcano? Thousands have flocked to Fagradalsfjall in Iceland since an eruption began in March. The family who own the farm where the volcano emerged say it's up for sale “for the right price,” and they’ve already had offers. The site is expected to become a major attraction as tourism restarts. Some visitors are already posing for photos as they barbecue hot dogs on the lava. Take a look at the link in bio. 📷: Jeremie Richard/AFP via Getty Images

Giving Back to this Community

I'm thankful for this community. I'm thankful for the kindness and random help that people give. I'm thankful for how easy it is to get questions answered. So, I decided to give back in the same way that the community has helped me. **I'm giving away $30K to small business owners as part of a competition called Build your Dream.** Small business owners can submit 1-minute videos about the dream they are building and win up to $10K (we are giving away 3 prizes). You can submit your video and find out more info at [www.wizform.com/byd](https://www.wizform.com/byd). I also want to say this upfront: I'm not trying to get customers. I'm not doing this to get website traffic. I just genuinely want to help people tell their story and get cash. At the end of the day, entrepreneurs need cash more anything else. I'm blessed to be able to give back and I hope that I can help a few people along the way.

How do you find store fronts for lease?

I've been searching for a storefront in Southern California for about 4 months. I've been searching on loopnet and other sites that look like loopnet clones. Are there other resources available?

Advice on taking over the family business?

Curious what you would recommend I do. My father owns a very successful exterior painting company that’s takes home 200k+, and has grown a massive customer base within 30 years. but he is getting older and will be retiring in a few years. I’ve often thought it would be great to take on the family business but I would want to: A- scale the business from one crew to multiple crews B- manage the crews, resources, and sales as apposed to managing one crew and spending my days on a ladder. I guess overall, I would love to build on what my father has built, but am not sure how. I would love any advice relating to this topic. Thank you!

Importing Goods from Europe to USA ($12k USD)

Hi Everyone, I'm very fortunate to say my e-commerce store has been doing well and now and I am looking into holding inventory in-house. I currently buy from wholesalers based in the USA, but I will be going directly to the manufacturers in Europe instead. (Something about *Made in France* just sounds a little nicer and increases perceived value) I've never made such a large purchase before and would like to know if anyone has experience with importing goods into the USA. Do I need a license? Where do I file paperwork? Who do I pay taxes to?
