A housing developer in the Caribbean is making the world's first bitcoin community where residents will pay for property, goods and services completely from cryptocurrency. The idea came from real estate developer Storm Gonsalves, who plans to build 39 luxury villas, shops, a clubhouse and buildings n Bequia, an 18 sq km Caribbean island that is part of St Vincent and the Grenadines - the properties are going to range from £670,000 to £1.6m (which is roughly 24-51 bitcoin as of 17th of May 2021)🏡 Gonsalves told the Express that buying property in cryptocurrencies “will become a very normal thing in years to come. Half brothers Henry McCollum and Leon Brown - who are intellectually disabled - spent over 30 years in prison in North Carolina after being wrongfully convicted of the 1983 rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl, before being released in 2014 when DNA evidence exonerated them. Attorneys for the men, who were aged just 15 and 19 when they were sentenced to death, said they were scared teenagers who had low IQs when they were questioned by police and coerced into confessing. They've now been awarded $31 million each in compensatory damages - $1m for every year spent in prison - plus $13m in punitive damages. McCollum, now 57, said: “I’ve got my freedom, there’s still a lot of innocent people in prison today and they don’t deserve to be there.”
