Manager Journal App

Hi there, looking for any suggestions on an app I can use for daily notes on individual employees. There's about 10 of us and I'd like the ability to have a "notebook" for each of them with the capability to tag other people in that same notebook. Example: in employee #1 notebook, write about an incident with employee #2 and "tag" employee #2 so that the same incident is connected to both employees workout having to make 2 entries. Being able to have notes and notebooks searchable would be useful, as well as categorizing notes within notebooks (ie. Performance, conduct, attendance issues, kudos etc) for each employee. Anything out there close to this? I currently have what I call my "manifesto" of hand written notes in a pile that I keep track of pretty decently. It would be useful to, instead of quickly jotting something down, to doing it in the phone instead. Thanks for any help!!

Why is my toothbrush business idea bad?

I want to get some opinions why my idea is shit. So basically, I would make bamboo toothbrushes. From start, these are better than plastic ones. It would be high quality, laser engraved. I would sell it to local businesses and shops, and I could engrave their business logo or they could resell it. I would also make it very cheap (1$/pc). The handle would use catchy designs, and the whole brush would feel premium. The main selling point is the extremly cheap price and the customisability.

Any other Millwright, rigging, or industrial mechanical contractors here?

Hello, I've been millwrighting for about 17 years now and started my own company about 2 years ago. My father had a company doing the same and made a very good living for himself and our family. Long story short, he got hurt on a job and lost most of his large accounts. Luckily (I guess) he was towards the end of his career and didn't have to be concerned with money after his injury. However, the business shut down before I was ready to take it over and now I've started from scratch again. I'm looking for advice to help get clientele. It's hard getting your name out to industrial facilities and gain trust to allow you in to their sites. Has anyone had any luck with Google ads to attract business in this setting? Any other tips to attract new clients? Thanks for any help as we continue to try and gain more traction!

What do seasonal business post for content during off seasons ??

I just started doing content creation for a few businesses. The owner of them saw my powerpoint presentation I did for them and requested I make their social media content as well. I've been doing pretty well so far but he just asked that I start making content for their Christmas tree delivery business so that way their page can accumulate followers for when it's Christmas time. I have no idea what to post. It seems like it should be simple, I asked chat gpt and it gave me a number of ideas but at the same time, I think it's kinda odd to be posting about Christmas when it's only June. Any ideas? Should I just make normal Christmas posts?

Lots of website traffic but no sales

Hello, I run a gym supplement store on Shopify and I noticed that my website has around 2000 sessions, but no sales or adds to cart. I think most of my traffic is through social media platforms as I haven't started paid ads yet. Can anyone try and help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? Feedback is appreciated. How to buy a service business?

Background: I’ve been in the service industry for a few years, have a bachelors degree in biology, have some savings, live at home, have a very technical and creative mind but a lot of depression and unruly self-doubt. Now: I’ve always wanted to either start or buy a business and be my own boss and I know businesses are like a marriage— a huge financial risk, tied to it forever, a lot of work, but, with nurturing, possibly rewarding and fulfilling. I’ve looked into a some small businesses from some almost-retirees and I’m still doing A LOT of reading and free online courses and my main issue is how to go about it somewhat alone. Even a smaller business is a huge investment and I feel like I’m lacking on the legal and financial side of things. Has anyone tried doing due diligence alone? What are some good personal resources I can find without breaking the bank? Is this a crazy or stupid idea?

Can another business pay me in gift cards if I advertise their business? Is it a business expense for them?

I'm reaching out to local businesses and asking for gift cards in return for advertising. Would the value of the gift cards count as a "business expense" for the other business since they are getting something in return?

No real world experience, nobody to help, no ideas, but want to start a business.

No real world experience, nobody to help, no ideas, but want to start a business. Hi everybody, I (27M) want to start a business but do not know where to start at all. I dropped out of college at 20, where I was studying Hotel and Restaurant management. Reason for dropping out was to help my older brother run his nail salon. He recently sold the shop and abandoned me. Doing nails since I was 17, has burned me out and I want to jump into something else. Problem is I have no skills outside of nails, and no other interests with no one to help. I have been on buy BizBuySell to get an idea of the many businesses out there, but they all seem intimidating. Any advice is appreciated!

Does anyone know where to find custom display stands without a huge minimum?

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone might know where I can get some custom pos floor display stands without having to order hundreds? I need ten of them and most places have large minimums. I’m hoping there’s somewhere that I just haven’t found. Thanks in advance for any help

Do you use no-code? Do you tell your users?

We build on Bubble and have told our users that the website is built using no-code, but I am wondering if others do the same. If yes, what do you gain by doing so? If no, why not?

Any resources to better understand "forming" a company?

Longtime lurker, first time poster so please be nice. I am finally taking the plunge and looking to make a small business selling custom comic books and want to figure out the best way to structure my company. It's very simple, just one owner selling items online (so very low liabability I would think) but I want to find a way to have the expenses (of software and subscriptions) and (hopefully) profits categorized correctly on my taxes. Any suggestions or resources for me to look at?

What would you pay $50-100 a month for to help your business / make life easier?

Hi small biz owners, hope you are well. I'm trying to think of ideas to start my own small biz and was thinking to try and start some sort of monthly service that would be quite cheap yet helpful/time saving etc. for small biz owners, so not too much of a difficult sell. I was thinking for example, taking their phone calls during their out of office hours but after some thinking, I'd imagine most small biz owners would probably want to handle those themselves/pick up on them in the morning. Does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions? What little thing would you pay a small amount for to make life a little bit easier for you?!
