What age should a girl be allowed to wear a cheeky cut or thong styled bikini? Mom asking
So I'm mother of a daughter who is 15 (just finished her freshman year). Alot of her friends are starting to wear these smaller bikinis from boutinela or other similar companies or even just the ones they sell at target can be very small. My daughter really wants to wear them and we aren't sure what the answer is. On one hand I want her to feel confident in her skin and be able to wear what she wants and on the other I know how others may look at her. Especially if she is posting pictures in them. I remember being her age and wanting to show off as well but trying to make a responsible decision. My husband and I thought a good rule would be to make sure at least half of her butt is covered, but then we thought that might be semantic and maybe sexualizing something that shouldn't be. Want her to have fun with her friends just trying to look out for her too!

Is this sub joining the planned 48 hour blackout in support of third-party app access?
*Context: while I do periodically nuke my reddit accounts, I'm a longtime if quiet bromo and an even longer-time reddit user. One of the olds. Like 2008-era.* Is there some sort of plan, backup "bromo forum space," etc. in the event that reddit goes through with their API cash grab? My understanding is that mods basically require content tools that are only found in third-party apps to keep their subreddits from being flooded with vile/illegal content, and reddit is about to impose astronomical fees on app devs which will basically force them all to fold. Except reddit's official POS app, of course.

Pediatrician says we are feeding too much formula and should start solids
LO just turned 4 months old and takes about 36-37 oz of formula a day between 5 bottles. He sleeps all night from 7:30-7. His weight is 53% but height is almost 100% (we are both really tall). Today his pediatrician said 37 oz is too much and we need to start solids. I really want to do BLW and wait until he is closer to 6 months. He doesn't have perfect head control, isn't interested in our food, and isn't sitting up unassisted yet. I really don't feed ready, but I'm also worried about over feeding and hurting his stomach with formula. Have others felt this way?

Does anyone else wake up patting the sheets thinking they dropped the baby?
I don’t remember this with my first but I’m experiencing it now with my two week old.

Easy on-and-off clothes?
Our 2 day old newborn has horrible reflux and we’re changing him at least 5 times a day due to the vomit. Does anyone have recommendations for clothes that are easy to take on and off but will still keep him warm? We can do onesies but I think he’d be too cold with those alone. Any help at all is appreciated. ❤️

I forgot we had an electrician coming this morning.
See me answering the door at 8 AM in my pyjamas with "MILF" written across the front in huge font... And two big wet lines of breast milk pouring down because 6 week old was still sleeping. Talk about embarrassing.

WFH parents, I love you
I am a Claims adjustor and I spend most of the day on the phone. I'm also WFH. From time to time, I have to work an hour or two with my 10 month old on my lap or nearby. Anytime I get a call or have to call out with her, I let people know that I have her with me and I apologize if she acts up. WFH parents in a similar boat always make me feel so much better and just relieves my anxiety. I just spoke to an attorney who said he had his kid with him too! My daughter kept shaking a toy in my face the whole call and we just had a laugh. So to all of you understanding parents in the same boat, I love and appreciate you.

Squeezing in tummy time
I keep seeing videos of little newborns doing tummy time on FB and Instagram now that those platforms have figured out I'm a mom now 🤦♀️ these little babies are holding their heads up great and seem content on the floor. I'm watching like how the heck did they squeeze that in? Some of these babies look younger than mine(5wks). I'm lucky to get tummy time on my chest. I keep trying to get him on his playmat but it seems like he's always eating, sleeping, or fussing and being comforted. They say to wait 20-30 mins after a feed in case they spit up. I feed him and he sleeps on me. He screams bloody murder the moment I detach him from me 😂 I know not to compare my baby to others but stupid algorithms keep shoving this crap in my face making me feel like I'm failing.

Outside walks with air quality alerts?
Morning and evening stroller walks with my 6 week old and dog have been life saving. But I’ve been worried since we currently have air quality alerts because of the fires in Canada (live in the north east USA). Does anyone have any advice for still getting outside time with the air quality in mind? I don’t know if I’m over thinking things!

My 5 year old is currently hospitalized with a staph infection of the bone
I’m not looking for medical advice. We’re at one of the top children’s hospitals in the country, and I completely trust what the doctors are doing here. I’m too scared to google anything, so I’m here seeking positive recovery stories from other parents of kids who have contracted staph infections of the bone. My daughter has been hospitalized since Friday night after only having a few days of arm pain and 48 hours of a treatable fever. She’s gone through an MRI, 2 surgeries, and IV antibiotics. Once she can go 48 hours without a fever and her labs decrease to the levels the docs want to see, we’ll be on the path to going home. I’m nervous about what the future will look like and want to make sure we don’t end up back here.

Told I'm being "too paranoid" about sunburn
It's a hot summer so far. EVERY time we venture outside, even if it's only for a few minutes, baby wears a hat and is thoroughly lathered up with SPF 50 sunscreen. Don't want to name any names, but a few people have been dismissive, even critical of me. "Oh, come on, sunburns are a fact of life." "Come on, he'll be fine, he needs his vitamin D!" Ugh. NO. Like back off. Please. He's my child and I'm doing what I must for his health and safety. He's very VERY fair skinned, courtesy of his Danish heritage. I'm not willing to risk him getting burnt. If a small child, especially a baby, gets even a minor sunburn, their risk of developing melanoma later in life skyrockets - and there's been a LOT of skin cancer in my family.

How hazardous is a one time indoor spray of a pyrethrin based insecticide for a toddler?
I let the bug guy spray our baseboards in the upstairs living area because of the way he described the insecticide (made from flowers). I wasn’t expecting this so just said yes (foolish, I know - if it kills bugs, it isn’t the same as spreading flowers around the house). Now after realizing that he was a referring to pyrethrins, I wish I’d only let him do outside/our crawlspace. How concerned should I be? Will going around wiping the baseboards help?

Hairdresser destroyed my son’s hair
My oldest has beautiful curly hair - his usual cut is kind of “beach bum”, a little on the long side and a little wild, but it does a great job of highlighting his curls. Definitely not the “typical” boy haircut in my area (which is just a buzz cut). Anyways, my father in law has the same kind of hair, so when he asked if we were ok if his hairdresser did my son’s hair, we said sure, but not too short! Father in law agreed and said ok. Well, the hairdresser gave him the regional cut, with bonus faux hawk that REALLY doesn’t suit him. I’m so upset. My husband is truly upset (same hair type, my father in law has strong genes!), my son isn’t impressed either. I know it’s just hair, and it will grow out, but it’s his birthday next week and we’re bummed he’ll have a crappy haircut. That’ll teach us to use someone else than our trusted hairdresser.

Feeding Taking Over My Life
Does anybody else feel like you spend so much time worrying about your baby eating & gaining weight that it almost completely consumes you? My baby has been on the struggle bus weight wise & I dread our pediatrician weight check ins so much. I also find that during the day I am drowning in trying to get every ounce of breast milk in him possible to the point where he doesn’t get to play or nap as much as he should. I wish motherhood could just be enjoying bonding with your baby instead of breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, weighing, repeat. Signed, A mom who loves her 3 month old so much but is mentally exhausted 😅

When should I worry about my baby not rolling over on his own?
I wasn't sure what flair to put but I do need advice on what to do to get my baby rolling. My baby will be 6 months in a couple weeks. He rolls fine if I give a little nudge but he won't roll 100% on his own. He's hitting all his other milestones fine (scratching at everything to feel textures, starting to sit up more with minimal help, good at passing toys from one hand to the other, good at lifting his head and scooting around during tummy time, mimicking sounds and can say "hi".. etc) When did your babies start rolling more constantly on their own?
