Client ignoring invoices and messages

I have a small business doing consulting, design, cad work, etc for companies, Mostly local. I have a client who has an outstanding balance of $1500. I generally bill at the end of each project, I have done a ton of work for this client with no issues. Last project, They ignored me on the bill and payment reminders for a while. Finally paid only because they were in a bind and needed help on another project. I did it because I am still new & growing and just need the money. This time the bill was around $1,500. They have since stopped replying to me again, This time not replying to anything. It has been a few months. I have sent the bill, and a reminder each month since. Should I send more? Should I show up in person? Even just as a "Hey, Was in the area, just seeing if you need anymore work or how things are going?" I have been to the location many times. I'm not sure If I have any recourse or If $1500 is even worth pursuing action.

Can I close my business and then continue to offer my services as a 1099?

For more context. Been in business 3 years. Had an enormous peak and now it’s leveled off to basically side hustle level. Don’t think it’ll generate enough income to pay the overhead. I work entirely out of my home and have enough saved to pay remaining debt and still take a nice final draw. Once I dissolve my LLC is there anything preventing me from selling the exact same services as a side hustle to any of my previous return clients? I can process payments through PayPal and claim that 1099 income on my personal taxes? TL;DR: want to close my business because the industry has come to a screeching halt. I still may have some repeat clients down the road looking for my services where I could then just process the sale as an independent 1099 under my own name.

How do you invoice to account for Card Processing fees?

I am attempting to sign up with my first ever payment processor. As a consumer, I hate it when I reach the register and the cashier tells me there will be a "3% fee" on top of the total I was already given. I would prefer they just account for all the costs at once and tell me the real total without back pedaling. I don't want to have to crunch a calculator every time I invoice to add on the fee. Clover told me they could account for their fee as part of the total with their built-in invoicing tool, but then they denied my application. Does anyone have tips they can share on baking the fee into their product/service total automatically?

Scheduling Software

I work for a smallish home cleaning company and scheduling can be a nightmare. We currently use jobber and I have to pair cleaners with clients and keep them within 20 minutes from each job. I also have to keep in mind what client likes which cleaners. Any advice on software to either autoschedule or to help simplify my job would be incredibly helpful

Effective online advertising strategies for my door and window sales business

Hi everyone! I run a door and window sales business and I'm searching for successful online advertising strategies to promote my services, contact information, and what I do. I've tried door-to-door marketing with business cards, but I'm convinced that online advertising would be more efficient. Any advice on the best platforms to advertise my business?

If a person has a small business that owns a 3,000 sq ft building..and then they wanted to rent it out to white collar businesses for rental income..how much can they get a month in rental income? I believe I read that even smalls towns need..idk..lawyers/accountants..so just rent to some of them?

Virginia Wage Laws - Former employee Asking for reprint of checks between 8 months and 2 years old

The short of it is this: Employee worked for me from August 2021 through November 2022. Terminated for no-call/no-shows. Employee's mom calls (employee is 19 at this point) and says employee never cashed a single check and I need to reprint them all and mail them to her. I see Virginia has an escheatment process, but I don't find anything on a VA site that says how to handle unclaimed wages. I also found a VA Code (§ 55.1-2516) that says wages unclaimed for more than 1 year are considered abandoned. This would directly contradict what I read about the escheatment process. I've emailed DOLI, no response after 2 weeks. I've called DOLI direct. You get to a point in their phone tree where they tell you the call volume is too high, leave a message. Three messages left over the past 2 weeks. Neither my accountant nor my franchise advisor has ever had anything like this happen so they're both clueless on the matter. Anyone have some knowledge to drop?

Need help with GMB verification “no more ways to verify”

I’m trying to list my business on Google my business. As soon as I tried to verify, it started to say “no more ways to verify”. I contacted support and they are very useless, this is the email they send me “ I empathize with your concern. I totally understand how important it is to own and manage your profile. However, I am from the manual verification team and I regret informing you that our investigation has concluded. I am unable to proceed further with verification. However, if you have the other options to get verified then you can try them.” I asked over and over for help for another way to verify all this person is doing is copy pasting the same email and sending it again. I tried to make another profile to try again but it won’t let me since this business already has a profile. Any suggestion is appreciated.

Anyone in here ever been through an audit? I'm working with a cpa and it seems to be going smooth so far. I'm just curious if anyone would share what happened when it was all said and done.

Services like Docusign?

Any recommendations on an affordable service where clients can sign/initial PDF's for liability agreements? I have the agreement already in Google Docs. We have been printing and filling out by hand. I would like to have an electronic option.

If I started a small business selling baseball cards, it would fail right?

I have always thought about doing this, but it doesn't seem very creative, and I bet a lot of other people do something like that and also there's Amazon for a reason. Is this ultimately a bad idea that would fail?

Possible to have two payroll services?

I run a small video production business and I finally have enough cash flow to give myself a salary as an S-corp. I use Wrapbook (they are the employer of record) to pay entertainment folks for my projects, very short stints and it covers workers comp too. Since I personally don't need workers comp, I'm planning on using something separate like WaveApps or Gusto. The former requires payroll history when you **switch** to Wave’s payroll software. But since I'm not switching, I'm puzzled whether or not I'm starting fresh or not. I believe I can have **both** in this scenario (Wrapbook, the employer of record handling all the tax documents on their end) and I can have my own payroll service just for me and future FT employees I want to bring on. Anyone have this issue before?

EComm Fulfillment Error %

For those of you using e-commerce fulfillment centers, what’s a fair % of errors on packages made by them (missing items in an order, etc)? I have a good team overall, but have maybe 1-2% error rate. Is that fair for a team to have that? Perfection I imagine is hard to find. In your reply: What do you pay per package to be fulfilled (so I understand your error rate with the $ for per package fulfillment)
