A video game similar to nba2k and madden… but it’s hotdogs

A game where you can play as all the competitive eaters in the world and eat hot dogs. You can train for and compete in the Nathan’s hotdog competition. Anybody got any good names for this?

Do I have to buy my own shares for my own corporation?

Started a new corporation and am a little confused by the share certificate. If I’m the originator of the corporation I didn’t have to buy the shares and companies keep asking me for a receipt that shows that I purchased the shares. But it’s my own company do I have to buy my own shares?

Cotton Candy Stand

I’m trying to talk myself out of this, but I came across a person selling their business because they’re moving out of state. Cotton candy stand with a box truck for $26k. At the event we are at this business is the only one with a line and it’s not because they are slow but it looks like all the kids want cotton candy instead of kettle corn or other treat stands. I believe they are under charging for the product and missing opportunities to upswell with a add-ons or drinks. Worth it? I figure I can do like 5 events a month for 6 months out of the year and be fairly profitable. Anyone currently this type of business or have experience? Am I missing something besides taxes and business certs? TIA

Can an LLC save money in a business account without paying self-employment tax? (US)

I am begining my journey into starting a small business and I've been trying to decide of a buisiness structure. I think for my circumstance an LLC or sole proprietorship makes the most sense. If an LLC (single member) has totally seperate accounts from my personal accounts, is any way I could build up an emergency fund for the business without paying self employment tax on it? My understanding is that any net income in an LLC would count as personal income so I would have to pay self employment tax regardless of if the money was earmarked to stay within the business. Is there any way around this besides forming a corporation?

Canceling ReadyRefresh Water delivery

Hello, I am part of a small business that currently gets bottled water delivered weekly from ReadyRefresh. These are the big 5 gallon jugs that go upside down on those stands. While they are convenient, we are looking to cancel the service. The only problem is that to cancel we need to pay a $50 "refurbishment fee" for the stands that dispense the water. I'm not sure why or how, but our account shows us as having 15 of these stands, so the fee would be $750. We unfortunately do not have the cash on hand to pay that fee. We also don't have all 15 of the stands. Currently, there are also recurring deliveries set up for every week that we do not want. We can manually skip them, but I have not been able to find how to cancel the recurring deliveries. I have tried to get on the phone with ReadyRefresh, but their customer service is atrocious. If anyone knows how to cancel the recurring deliveries or any other solutions it would be very appreciated. Thank you, a stressed employee.

What does this actually mean?

100% down at the time of closing or 50% Cash Down with SBA Financing for Qualified Buyers? Does that mean that they are willing to do owner financing for 50% or does that mean that they are only okay with us borrowing 50% at the bank?

Help with buying small business

Has anyone by chance bought an already established small business before? I'm in the beginning stages of talking to the owner about possibly buying and taking over his business. The business is Porta Potty rentals. If this is done, it will be a smooth transition, meaning I'm not planning on changing anything at all. For example, I am going to be riding around with him for a few months, being introduced as the "new partner" until I have a full grasp, and he will phase out. With that said, what do I need to be looking at exactly? I've taken a look at the profit and loss sheets for the last 5 years but I also would like to seek out any advice on what else I should be looking at or anyone i should go and consult with to ensure I'm doing this the best way possible. Thanks in advance.

10 mil Laminator recommendations

I make laminated dried plant and bug wing jewelry, so I know this is a niche market and my pool for resources is small, but I really need to upgrade my laminator. It's a scotch and only heats to a 5 mil pouch (also ot keeps eating my sheets). I need 10 mil capacity that won't break the bank. Any recommendations?

Do you pass on savings?

Do you guys pass on savings you find after you have a quote accepted and a PO raised? To keep it simple I quoted 100 for 8 products. My cost was going to be 80. The day the PO was delivered (within a couple of days) I got a special offer on the 8 products dropping my price to 55. I don't have any fixed margin agreements with them but I do enjoy a very positive relationship that I want to maintain. The value is fairly low compared to the contract but my worry is if discovered they may feel that I'm doing it elsewhere. Give the low value though raising a new PO would be more of a pain than anything else. I was thinking of giving them a couple of freebies that I know they will enjoy almost as a conscience cleaner. What would you guys do? It's my first time being in this situation. I'm 99% comfy with the freebie option but wanted a secondary opinion

Upload one photo per day - App

We all remember that one great digital photo we took during a vacation or of a child but it got lost in a sea of images and now you might have to search for hours to find it. Quantity has outpaced quality when it comes to our photos. Here's an idea for an app which helps in curating and sharing quality photos. Basic features: 1) You can only upload one photo per day. Think of a Wordle type countdown and stats tracking with old Deal-a-day Woot! type hype. The point here is to create scarcity, one photo per day. The uploaded photo now has increased "value". 2) Paid subscription allows you to create additional Albums, each album can have one photo per day uploaded. Avoid a "the user is the product" revenue model. Adds to the concept of the photo having value. Revenue stream is the hardest part to get right. Is there anything like this out there? Thoughts?
