Vendor's business went under. Now its financing company is demanding payment of invoice.
Not sure how to move forward with this. My business ordered a commercial mailbox and installation from our vendor few months ago. However, upon delivering the box, they did not finish installation, and ended up getting it damaged as well. We have been trying to get in touch with them to finish installation and repair, but they have been ignoring our requests. Turns out, their business folded a week ago. Today, I received an email from their financing company asking for the full invoice to be paid. I want to tell them to kick sand, since the vendor's goods and service have been incomplete. Anyone else been in situation like this? Looking to receive some advice on how to proceed.

If you have extra cash in your business that you don't have immediate need to use, is it wise to put it into short term government treasuries etf instead of sitting in the bank account?
Recently I discovered short term treasuries ETF like $SGOV and $BIL where the etf pays you monthly dividend based off 0-3 months treasuries. Currently I have about a very good amount of cash in my business that's just sitting there and doing nothing for the past few months. I know for HYSA have limits on withdrawls so it's probably not a good idea. However, these ETF looks are they are very liquid and well funded. So my question is, is it smart if I park part of my business cash into these short term treasuries etf? Thanks

Fear of failure
Folks, I'm new here and looking for some advice. I've been in business for 15 years and never had any huge success, basically paid the bills and kept myself and business partner in work. I have just sold one business for $30k, this is enough to give us a little runway for a few months. We have done SEO for our own websites and am now building a number of content sites along with building ecommerce sites to build and sell. I've got a decent amount of experience in ecommerce but I'm racked with the fear of failure. My confidence has been seriously knocked with a few projects that have failed and I am concerned I can't get back on. It's great to have sold my recent business and I'm eternally grateful and should take the positives

How to market my small restaurant/takeaway
Hello there, I’ve recently purchased a local small Burger takeaway/restaurant, We make our own patties on site using a local butcher that provides us with the meat etc. Before I purchased the business I worked here for 2 years so I know a lot about the business and the customers, The business is going smoothly and I’m now looking at attracting more new customers, What are some of the more effective methods of attracting potential customers, The cost doesn’t really matter so much as long as it’s effective as drawing people in, I’m mainly looking to get people inside the business it’s self rather than ordering for delivery, Any help and advice is great, thanks

Legal aspects of breaking up with a client
I have a landscaping company, and today a client cussed out and verbally abused a tech on site for accidentally showing up on the wrong day. Tech apologized profusely, confirmed he could return on the correct day, client did not let up. Tech is terrified about going back and super uncomfortable. I am uncomfortable sending him. Or anyone else. There is no written contract. Tech had just agreed to come out and do a little clean up and did not recieve any payment. I want to fire this client. Like yesterday. Am I legally good to go with that?

Restructure LLC to S-corp or be taxed as an S-corp?
Quick question, I'm currently own an LLC and am looking to hire my first employee in November. From my understanding currently (and historically) as a single member LLC, it acts as a pass through. If I hire a W-2 employee, do I need to restructure my LLC to an S-corp? Or is it better to work with a CPA to handle the taxes as an S-corp but keep it as an LLC? Separately, what type of CPA should I be looking for? I'm still learning all of this, so some of what I said above may not actually make sense, but any advice is invaluable!

Challenge: You have $5000 to turn into $100,000 and only 180 days to make it happen. What are you doing?
For me I have a lot of experience in fundraising and events. I would probably try organizing a few community events / festivals. Id also consider developing something like a tough mudder series across my state. That way I could sell tickets before I had to purchase too much to support the events to generate a pool of funds. I’d generate a list of leads and qualify them before pitching them on an event hosting proposal. What other ideas would you toss out?

I want to be able to text clients that their order is ready from my email.
I’ve seen the gateway carriers but I think it would be weird to ask, “would you like me to text you when your order is ready? Ok, and who is your carrier?” Are other companies paying for some sort of software/app for this? I do not have a company phone either so that wouldn’t be an option. I also have strict online access so I couldn’t use something simple like google.voice. I’m basically a small shop (outside contractor) functioning within a very large company that restricts a lot of access for security reasons.

How to define ownership percentage when partners bring different things to the table
What is the best arrangement to make with my business partner when I am providing all the finances for the business but he is bringing his ample experience and will be working more. I would like to be 50/50 but I don’t want my partner to resent me while I sit around and manage the business while he is in the field working. I also want to avoid coming in on the high horse when we have disagreements due to the fact that my money is financing everything. Please share your wisdom.
