16 months PP and still haven't recovered from birth. Anal fissures just won't go away. How was your body forever changed after giving birth?
I had an uncomplicated, vaginal delivery. Breastfed for a year. At 3-4 weeks PP I got fissures. Was told to take stool softener, magnesium, water, and fiber. I was told it takes time. Then I was given cream. Still didn't help. It is MANAGEABLE right now, but every 6-10 weeks, it flares up (mild), but very annoying. I take a softener EVERY day. I didn't even know WHAT fissures were before getting them. It's so frustrating. I have seen a colorectal doctor, who said everything looks fine, but there is nothing he can do and to take stool softener for LIFE. Why is it so difficult to get help and a plan of action after giving birth? It's like no one believes me. I saw two pelvic PT's who were AMAZING, but they can't see a connection between my pelvic floor issues (grade 2 bladder & rectocele prolapse) because I'm pretty much asymptomatic. Anyways, I just hope I'm not the only one suffering from BUTT trauma after giving birth š

Itās one of those āI just want to be lazy on my phoneā kind of days
Anyone else have these and should I feel guilty? The morning was spent watching tv with my daughter while I browsed my phone (itās too Hott to go anywhere and I left the car seat in my moms car). And now weāre outside in her little pool where sheās playing (safely) and Iām sitting here with her while browsing YouTube and Reddit. I feel bad for not actively playing with her today, sheās happy and unaware but I hate feeling bad about it.

Anyone have a newborn with a colostomy bag?
Hey everyone. Wondering if anyone here had a newborn that needed a colostomy bag? My little girl had to have the surgery at 5 days old, she was born without a butthole, and just turned 8 weeks old today. Getting the bag to last longer then a day is getting very difficult cause of how much she moves around and the wafer is right next to/over her hip so it gets all the movement. Wondering if anyone knows any tips or tricks that would help! Thank you š

Looking for update on the 4mo drinking 16oz a bottle?
There was a post a few days ago about a 4mo drinking 16oz of formula in one go (total daily intake was massive?). The post has been deleted now, but was wondering if there was an update? Was worried about the baby, and interested to see how their healthcare team was handling it all?

What to do with my 8 month old daughter.
I (32M) finish work about 1.5-2 hours before my wife does. So when our babysitter leaves for the day, itās just me and my daughter(8mo) for a little while. I absolutely love spending time with my daughter but I feel like weāve been doing the same thing everyday and sheās getting bored of me. I either hang with her and her toys on the floor or step out to the backyard and sit on the swing together. Once my wife is off work, we typically go for a walk to a park nearby together, so I feel like going for a walk is out of the question. Any ideas on how to switch things up or activities to do with my daughter so she doesnāt get bored of me?

Can they make cones of shame for babies exiting the swaddle stage?
You know like dogs wear? Because, I donāt know about you, but I LOVE it when my baby wakes up from a nap that took me a good hour to coax her into due to flailing hands pummeling her face.

Anyone else's baby dance *whenever* they hear music?
My 11 month old LOVES music as most do. She dances as soon as she hears music or even if she anticipates it lol. Anything from nursery rhymes, theme songs, r&b, pop, metal... everything! I cracked up while watching One Missed Call & she danced when the dreaded ring tone played in the movie lol Even if I start singing, she's dancing. She will dance every single time she hears music lol it's so cute! Anyone else's baby a dancing queen/king?

How do you properly make 5 oz of formula?

Something I didn't know I'd have to think about.
I've gone most of the summer just oblivious that my heels look like a God damn geriatric, no lotion having, dehydrated hot ass mess. I'm now wearing lotion with socks on and it's just a sensory nightmare. Wanna know how I discovered this? I was walking my toddler to the park and felt something wet on the backs of my feet. I was weeping from the cracks in my heels! I have never had this issue in my 33 years of life. What gives?! Geeze.

Parenting is considerably like the Twilight Zone or Black Mirror.
Imagine having a job which you try hard to do, without training, only to be told you are doing everything wrong, but on the flip side no one is actually doing it right and, ultimately whether you are performing correctly or not, is a matter of opinion. Mostly, it is a matter of your childrenās opinion. Some will be dead set on pointing out every possible failure, while otherās will see you as a saint- all within the same household.

Is anyone still doing mailed birth announcements?
I have a 2.5 month old and it just dawned on me today that birth announcements are a thing that people do (or did?). I announced on Facebook about 2 weeks after my daughter's birth and I feel like most people who should know know by now that she's here -- work, family, friends, etc. Is there a need to also do a mailed birth announcement or are most people just announcing on social media these days? What did you do?
