Erin Motz/BadYogiOfficial

I’m usually a lurker here but I am so fired up about her recent posts that I have to discuss. People have actually been calling her out on Instagram, which is amazing, but she just doesn’t seem to get it. I understand she’s trying to sell a course, but the concept of “failing” in yoga is so gross to me. I’ve been such a fan of hers for years, this is so disappointing to me. And the doubling down makes it worse.

Boston area yogis—have you been to Soma in the north end?

My home studio closed during the pandemic and the combination of my location (Somerville) and work schedule give me limited options. Have any of you practiced at Soma Yoga in the north end? The new green line puts them in reach and they have several classes that would work for my schedule. I’m especially curious if anyone has done their teacher training—it also looks good for my schedule, but that alone is not a good enough reason to do it. Thank you!

Advice? (A question)

Would someone with hyper mobility- (being too flexible) have to do any reverse exercises to strengthen the joint muscles? Or would that just be for certain exersisesl?

Half moon pose?

I used to do yoga and then ever since kids, i stopped. Now I'm slowly getting back in my yoga journey. My postpartum body isn't the same as before kids and I find myself struggling a lot. I keep falling over or losing balance in half moon. I know some instructors advise to practice half moon against a wall, I'm a little confused how close to the wall should I get? If I'm flush to the wall, i find it very hard. If I'm half a feet away, I find that my body leans against the wall - is this normal? I find myself struggling in opening in the pose without losing my balance or topping over. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated 😊

To the sleeping yogi

I could hear you softly snoring before we started and noted you awoke to join us about half way through class. I am so happy you took time to practice today and that the space is so restful and safe that you were able to meet your tired self where you were this evening. Sleep well.

Not sweaty person - Dry grip on mats

I’m naturally not a sweaty person and have recently moved from a humid country to a dry one. I’m struggling finding a mat with a good grip that is not wet-activated. Does anyone have any recos? I am based in the EU and was thinking of ordering the [Manduka GRP 6mm Hot Yoga Mat](https://eu.manduka.com/products/grp-hot-yoga-mat?variant=30199788732467) but I’m not sure if it only activates when wet and it seems heavy when I want to bring it to a studio? I am currently using a Lotuscraft cork mat and it is so frustrating. Would appreciate some insights!
