Twitter is subpoenaing a veritable Who’s Who of Wall Street and Silicon Valley as part of its legal battle to force Elon Musk to complete his proposed $44 billion acquisition. Ken Griffin’s on the list; so are Larry Ellison and Marc Andreessen. Not to mention Morgan Stanley and Sequoia Capital. The company’s on the hunt for any evidence that shows Musk’s claim that he pulled the plug on the deal over bot accounts is just pretext — investors, bankers, friends or anyone else Musk might have spoken to about the deal are fair game. Aman New York is the most hotly anticipated hotel opening the city has experienced in the past decade. Good luck getting inside. The most reliable way in is a club membership that costs $200,000. If you’re after an overnight stay, the premier suites are among the only reservations that can be booked through the end of the year. Be ready to part with up to $5,500 per night for the privilege. On arrival, guests are greeted almost immediately by a sprawling 7,000-square-foot terrace bar off the lobby, adorned with fire pits and Japanese trees — and that’s just the start. A dead fish lies on the cracked ground of La Vinuela reservoir during a severe drought in La Vinuela, near Malaga, southern Spain, August 8, 2022. A prolonged dry spell and extreme heat that made last July the hottest month in Spain since at least 1961, have left Spanish reservoirs at just 40% of capacity on average in early August, well below the ten-year average of around 60%, official data shows. 📷 nazca #drought #weather #reuters #reutersphotos #environment

US average retail gas prices fell below $4 a gallon to the lowest level since early March, according to data from AAA, offering some relief to American households squeezed by soaring prices. The drop comes less than two months after average national pump prices hit a record $5.015 a gallon on June 13. Cheaper oil and relatively weak demand have helped drive costs down.
