Florida has become the epicenter of a growing butt-lift crisis. There have been 21 deaths from the procedure since 2015, according to the state’s health department, with five of them last year — and those numbers could be even higher than official counts suggest, according to a study published this month. One major contributing factor, according to the Florida Board of Medicine, is butt-lift mills: high-volume surgery centers that offer the procedure at bargain prices by squeezing in as many clients as possible, often compromising quality in the name of quantity. Now the state is cracking down by issuing new mandates for surgeons that aim to make the procedure less risky. Read the full story at the link in bio.

Selling scones at a farmers market?
I’m planning to start selling my scones at the local farmers markets next year. I figured that’s a good place to start for growing organically and seeing what the market is. The thing is there are a couple of bakeries that also do scones. I’d really prefer that to be my speciality but I can add a few more items later on if need be to help with profit. But do you all thing a focus on scones would be a viable business? Has anyone sold at farmers markets? I plan to talk with local vendors but any ideas on how many I should plan to have available to sell? (More info: I’m looking into renting commercial kitchen space to be able to sell frozen scones and ones with glazed (perishable offerings, technically) but currently will be using cottage food laws).

Girlfriend is an awesome face painter and does it as a side hustle. How should she register as a business?
Hi all, My girlfriend is a face painter and she used to have quite the clientele built up. What she doesn’t have is an LLC nor is she registered as a fictitious name, etc. I am thinking all she should need is a fictitious name registered with the state. There are expenses related. Should she have a separate bank account just for her business, for purchasing things like the paint, brushes, etc.? So - 1. Is registering as a fictitious name enough? 2. Does she need a separate bank account for what she’s doing? Thanks in advance!

Business Structure Questions: DBA in Tennessee
I now live in Tennessee & discovered that they tax LLCs but not sole proprietorships, so that's the route I want to go. For what I will be doing, I am not concerned about being sued & willing to take the risk. These are also relatively part-time endeavors that will be oriented towards a small customer base where quality will be emphasized. TL;DR, I am starting a few service-only small businesses without a retail location as a sole prop & had a few questions: 1) To do business with a name, i'd need a DBA for each business? 2) Can I register multiple businesses under the same address? Thanks!
