Climb the Gap's founder Jaylene Benggon Chung was recently featured in an article "Climbers At Odds Over Far-right Dogwhistle Route Names" by the Agence France-Presse (AFP) news agency, which was picked up by many newspapers, including the International Business Times (link in bio). Many examples of route names that reference Nazi idealogy are found in Europe, which this article highlights. We are proud of the climbers like Jaylene and other members of climbthegap who are working to stop the promotion of despicable route names. Anti-semitic, racist, misogynist, or otherwise despicable choices for route names should not have a place in our guidebooks or climbing media!
