It’s crazy to think I took this 4 years ago while making/writing A Year in Flowers. My goal was to show just how many beautiful flower varieties were available to work with if you just did a little digging. Daffodils are the perfect example of a flower that people think they know and many people don’t really like because all they’ve seen are the standard bright yellow varieties. But once they realize that all of these beauties are daffodils too they want to grow them in their gardens. I love helping make that connection! If you want to know what these varieties are and see more of my favorites, there’s a link in my profile to download Floret’s Favorite Daffodil & Narcissus Guide. It also includes some of my favorite places to order bulbs. #ayearinflowers

In the wild, the Jade vine (Strongylodon macrobotrys) is pollinated by bats, but with the absence of bats inside our glasshouses, Kew horticulturists mimic the bats by extracting the pollen by hand and then delicately spreading it onto the flowers using a paintbrush! 🦇🖌️ https://t.co/d480a7cJBh
