Mother Nature has been dishing out some curveballs the past few years. Record heat, record cold & now a deluge of rain & cold. I don’t have a single dahlia in the ground yet. The weather here in the PNW has been so cold & wet that it feels like March not May. So much rain has fallen & with these cold temps if I plant them they’ll just rot. So I’m patiently waiting for it to warm up just a bit so that these beauties have more optimal conditions. One of the faces I can’t wait to see is my first hand cross I’ve ever done. This is a second year seedling that I’m calling Strawberry Wine. Hopefully in another week I’ll be able to get these babies in the ground, we’ll see what the forecast has to say though. Fingers crossed! 🀞 #flowerfarmer #flowerfarm #flowerfarming #thefarmhouseflowerfarm #dahlias #dahlia #localflowers #cutflowers #freshflowers #washingtonflowers #pnw #stanwood

Watching this flower box of bulbs bloom over the past month has been so enjoyable. It can be hard to remember to plant bulbs in the fall when there is so much other yard work to do, but it sure is worth the work! All tulip, narcissus, and hyacinth bulbs are from longfieldgardens … this week will be dedicated to working on Flirty Fleurs Bulb Collections 🌷 🌷 🌷
