There aren't many kinds of objects in our solar system we haven't seen up close with a spacecraft. Metal asteroids are one of them. Launching in 2022, #MissionToPsyche will explore a metal asteroid that may tell us more about the core of our own planet. https://t.co/KQqpKSeWoU https://t.co/9gsaCRVsBb

"Looks Like We Made It" (to a NASA internship!)

This is mainly in relation to [an earlier post](https://www.reddit.com/r/nasa/comments/tjn4us/tell_it_to_me_straight_doc_what_are_the_chances/), which I am following up on now: A month or two back I posted a query about the chances that a sci-fi writer and science writing student might have at working for NASA Well, as of this week, I am happy to announce that I have been selected for, offered, and accepted a summer internship position in Science Writing with the Office of Communications (OCOMM) at NASA Goddard, which will officially begin on June 6th Thanks so much to everyone who offered advice or encouragement in the original post linked above... this feels like a very big achievement, and I hope it's only my first step into a larger world

The @NASAInSight lander detected its largest quake yet! On May 4, InSight’s highly sensitive seismometer observed an estimated magnitude 5 marsquake, adding to its catalog of more than 1,300 quakes detected since it landed in November 2018. https://t.co/QXViX6bPQ9 https://t.co/dsgVC1rOrq

We stand on the shoulders of giants – those who paved the way. We recently honored former JSC Director Mark Geyer and Apollo flight director Glynn Lunney with a tree planting in the Memorial Grove, and dedicated benches to the teams of Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, shuttle, and more. https://t.co/gPrXthNjtM

On May 9, 1969 the HL-10 lifting body completed its 1st supersonic flight. The HL-10 was 1 of 5 lifting body designs flown at @NASAArmstrong between 1966 and 1975 and helped develop landing techniques later used with the space shuttle orbiters. https://t.co/sTxfUQ92xC https://t.co/3lv4q8rG1x
