Ensuring all people have access to their preferred contraceptive methods has significant health benefits and expands opportunities for women, including access to education and work. Use of contraception prevents pregnancy-related health risks for women, especially for adolescent girls. Also, spacing pregnancies two or more years apart improves child survival rates significantly. Access to quality healthcare before, during, and after childbirth is critical. Although maternal deaths have decreased by about one-third since 2000, almost 300,000 women still die each year due to causes related to pregnancy. #WHO75 #HealthForAll 📸 (in order) - A mobile family planning team at work in a village in #Jamaica, 1974 WHO / John Littlewood - A newborn is delivered at a hospital in Kabul, #Afghanistan, 2022 WHO / Kiana Hayeri
