Now that the Queen was laid to rest yesterday, a seven-day (six from today), private mourning period will take place for the royal family. Certain troops and household staff will also be included in the additional mourning period, as the UK’s national ten-day mourning period comes to an end today. A day after Queen Elizabeth II’s death on 8 September, King Charles III called for a period of royal mourning in a statement that read: "It is His Majesty The King’s wish that a period of Royal Mourning be observed from now until seven days after The Queen’s Funeral." This means the period of private mourning will come to an end on 26 September.

Brits will do anything to protect our love for an honest queuing system 🤣 Following the death of the late monarch, thousands lined the streets of London to pay their respects at Westminster Hall before her funeral on Yesterday. Celebrities including Susanna Reid and David Beckham also joined the lengthy queue that trailed across London. But morning TV duo Willoughby and Schofield were under fire from the public and accused of skipping the queue. A petition on Change.org called for the long-running daytime programme to be cancelled and branded the show ‘damaging.’ So far, the petition has garnered 13,956 signatures, with organisers determined to reach the 15,000 mark 😮 But now an ITV source told Metro.co.uk that the hosts were there as credited members of the press, filming for Tuesday’s episode of This Morning 👉
