Much of the momentum that teachers carefully build during the fall semester seems lost in the spring. These 4 strategies can help teachers maintain the momentum of earlier school months and help students not just survive, but thrive. @MirPloMCPS @edutopia https://t.co/emCAEa1VwR

Professional to bored cow
I thought I "knew" but I didn't really know before hand - never truly understood how much of a raw deal women get from human reproduction. You can have the most progressive and dedicated and loving partner ever but thanks to biology and society: * Your body is wrecked for 9 months and then permanently in a whole plethora of ways * Your career at best takes a massive hit * For at least 2 years you're entire life is massively crippled in terms of doing anything you actually enjoy I really don't know how to deal with going from qualified capable professional to 24/7 cow, cleaning service, and entertainment system overnight (Edit:formatting)

What nicknames do you have for your baby?
I've had a ball coming up with nicknames for our 6-week-old. My faves include: Dr Formula (My nemesis. She acts like a fat little Bond villain with hilarious hand gestures when it's time to eat) Scream Bean (self explanatory) Droolie Andrews (she's drooling a lot lately) The Goblin (she makes goblin noises most of the day) Bob (she was born over 10 lbs, a Big Ol' Baby) M'Lord (we live to serve her) Smiles (when she is happy she smiles a ton and melts our hearts)

2 year old devours dinner but refuses lunch almost every day ?
Hi all! So yeah, title says it all basically. My 2 year old (or soon to be in like 2 weeks) rarely wants to eat lunch (unless it’s beans on toast tbh) and when he does it’s never a huge amount. However he JUMPS on his evening meal and devours it. Is it just because he’s hungry because he skipped lunch ? Is it ok to let him skip a meal ? I should add he usually naps from 11-1:30 ish and sometimes has his lunch late around 2/2:30. Has anyone else ever experienced something similar ?

Do babies just naturally outgrow contact naps?
My family keeps pressuring me to get my daughter to nap in her crib. I know in theory they think it’ll be easier for me if she does but honestly I only have 4 weeks left of maternity leave and I’m not that interested in trying to get her to nap independently during my last few weeks with her. I mean don’t fix what’s not broken right? She’s 3 months right now. But they’re worried it’s going to be harder for me when she’s older so that I should just start now. Is there any truth to that? Or will she naturally outgrow her contact naps? (I have tried one nap a day in her crib and she wakes up immediately. After a few weeks of trying, I gave up and accepted contact naps for the rest of my leave)

This diaper rash won’t go away!!
My baby has had a bad diaper rash (blisters, hive-looking sores, redness, etc.) for like a week. I’ve tried diaperless, no wiping, desitin, Bordeaux’s butt paste, aquaphor, anti fungal creams, etc. nothing is helping. We went to the doctor today and that left me feeling gaslighted. She told me to get Calmoseptine. I feel like this isn’t normal. What suggestions do y’all have? Any hypoallergenic diapers/wipes you suggest? Help me help my baby! Thank you!!!

“It became more and more obvious that children, and especially boys, were living in a child-hostile environment,” says @KimJohnPayne. As a result, kids’ nervous systems were “out of whack” and many kids were (and are) in a near-constant state of fight-flight-freeze-or-flock. https://t.co/i3MPYh0r6T

If students analyze Dr. King's speeches and life's work more carefully, they'll see that he promoted a more radical approach to justice—not one that asks citizens to be neutral on racism or one that merely offers comfort. @CoshandraD_LFJ @learnforjustice https://t.co/SPV9GqIFPZ

Spare the Rod, Spoil the Child
I live in a South East Asian Country and over here it is common to cane your kids when they misbehave to ensure that they know that there are consequences for their actions. Heck it is also common for kids to be caned at schools by the discipline teacher if they misbehave. If you are wondering how old these kids are when they get caned, they are usually around 7 until 17. I am curious as to your general thoughts about using the cane to discipline your kids.
