Help with wrist issues
Hi all, I have been practicing yoga for about 2 years now and always had slight discomfort in one of my wrists. Recently i found out that it is something called ganglion cyst and i need to avoid putting my wrist at 90deg. Mostly i try to do my practice on knuckles but it is not very stable. One of the solutions i found online was to use Wrist assured gloves but they don’t ship to mainland europe. [https://www.wristassuredgloves.com/](https://www.wristassuredgloves.com/) . So the current plan is to make a DIY version of these and see how that goes. If anyone here has faced a similar issue, i would be very keen to hear your experience/solution.

pre-workout
Does anyone use pre-workout (just for yoga)? Or is it pointless? Specifically vinyassa style and power yoga. Thank you.

Yoga App Recommendations
Currently looking for a yoga app that can help personalize my at home yoga experience. I want to loose weight this year and need something more than my go to YouTube yoga channels. Do you have a yoga app that you enjoy and/or would recommend (little to no cost)?

Struggling with getting on toes
Hi all - I am having troubles getting up on my toes - for example positioning them for the plank in Sun salutations. It’s painful!! I’m not sure if it’s a strength thing or a flexibility thing. Are there exercises I can do to improve that? Or do you think it’s just a case of working through the pain until my toes adjust?

Nervous to try yoga in person even though I really would like to!
Im a 39 year old man and I’d really like to make yoga a part of my life. I exercise and meditate regularly, but I’ve never done any kind of fitness or mindfulness class that isn’t online. I know that anyone can do yoga and I am aware that it is my own self conscious thing. I just don’t want to interrupt a space or a class that is already established and feels safe to the attendants. I know that in person yoga skews heavily female and I don’t want to mess with the vibe. Is it common for people to come and go from classes or do they become a family like environment? Would it be weird for a middle aged dude who doesn’t know anyone to just show up?

Teaching yoga at a CrossFit gym
Hi everyone ! As the title says, I’m going to teach yoga at a CrossFit gym (starting February 1st). The gym is owned by my brother-in-law and he hired me to give a one hour class per week (mostly to help clients/students with strengthening and stretching body areas that are more prone to injuries or that are too tight because of training). I have never done CrossFit and I just learned yesterday what deadlifts, snatches and jerks were. Let’s say that I am very much a beginner. Yesterday, I went to the gym to watch and plan the focus of my classes (back extensions, pectoral/hamstrings stretches, asanas to strengthen feet, ankles, knees, lower back, shoulders, arms, also pranayamas to help lower heart rate and/or to help with breath retention, etc.). I’m also going to teach students about the 8 limbs, back movements and good postural habit in general. Any tips to give a clueless yoga teacher how to teach to a CrossFit clientele? Thanks in advance !

Stomach gripping - a bad habit?
Just wondering because I have always sucked my guts in order to look better in clothes, to the point of doing it all the time, even when I'm alone, maybe triggered by some kind of internal fatphobia that wanna makes me always look flat. I have found that when I actually release my abs, making the inhalation air flow to the bottom of my pelvis, somewhat I feel less anxious and more honest with myself. I don't know the extent of damage of contracting my belly all the time had done, but I really want to accept my tummie being bigger than I thought it were.

Should I wait until back soreness/pain is gone before getting back into yoga practice?
I've been attempting to make regular yoga practice a thing for the last 3-4 years. I have recurring back issues, usually lower back, where it's a pinched nerve that takes a week or so to work it's way out. Lately I have been thinking again that I need to make a habit of regular yoga practice even if it's just once a week to start. This morning my upper back started hurting, but not enough that I cannot move around etc. Should I wait until I am feeling 100% or can I start some slower/easier yoga that might help stretch it out too? TIA.

Yoga mat
This is probably a stupid question but I’m really new to yoga and I’m wondering how you get your mat to stop curling at the edges? I currently have it flat under two chairs but will it not just curl up again the next time I use it after rolling it back up?
