16 million students may be "chronically absent." Why kids don't show up to school is a thorny problem. The big takeaway? It's about meaningful relationships. @EdSurge @dtmollenkamp https://t.co/NsskdpcAss

Do y’all have 542 baby blankets or is it just me?
I feel like it’s the go-to gift and we have literally at least 30. And he can’t even sleep with a blanket!! And we live in Florida so it’s not even cold??

Toddlers need order and consistency. Toddlers prefer things to be exactly the same every day—the same routine, things in the same place, and the same rules. It helps them understand, make sense of their world, and know what to expect. -Simone Davies #parenting

"Do not ask your children to strive."
I'm sure this has made the rounds before, but I just came across it today. It really spoke to me. “Do not ask your children to strive for extraordinary lives. Such striving may seem admirable, but it is the way of foolishness. Help them instead to find the wonder and the marvel of an ordinary life. Show them the joy of tasting tomatoes, apples and pears. Show them how to cry when pets and people die. Show them the infinite pleasure in the touch of a hand. And make the ordinary come alive for them. The extraordinary will take care of itself.”

Be honest: do you 100% follow the safe sleep guidelines?
I.e. alone in a crib/bassinet/Moses basket on their back, no sleepyhead/dock-a-tot, no cosleeping etc. I ask because, while I absolutely get why they exist, they seem to be the exact opposite of what most babies actually prefer, making them very hard to follow in practice! I’ve already heard several parents I know admit to doing something that’s not recommended because it’s the only way they can get their kid to sleep. If you feel like it, comment on how specifically you deviate from the guidelines, and/or any calculated risks you’re willing to take and why. Let’s try and keep this a judgment-free zone (maybe impossible on Reddit 😅) as parenting is hard and we all want the best for our babies. [View Poll](https://www.reddit.com/poll/10m2gcl)

I am struggling getting rid out the clothes my daughter has outgrown. It’s so hard to see all the tiny little clothes go.
My daughter will be turning 3 months old on Friday and she’s in 3-6 month clothes. We have one tote full of newborn clothes and two totes full of 0-3 months. My husband is annoyed that I won’t part with her old clothes. We have five kids altogether and this is our last baby. Is anyone else struggling? Do you consign old clothes or sell them else where? Or do you give them away?? Agg idk why it’s so hard for me I hate clutter and I am very organized.

Adult-like bodily functions
New parent (M32) with a 5wk old, I never would have guessed my LO (with a 6.25lb birth weight) could fart, poop, and burp like a grown man. The noises out of her bottom rival that which come from the factory floor men's bathroom. She looks so accomplished when she does it, too.
