500vc slack channel is gone :(
In light of the 500vc slack channel being deleted, does anyone have any slack channel recommendations? Preferably with mostly other VCs as opposed to more founder breeding grounds. Iβm on Gen-Z VCs but any other recommendations would be helpful.

Ideas to share success with remote/international contractor CTO
Not sure if any of you have dealt with this before. We have a contractor for us (we're based in the US) who I consider a business partner - we've promoted him to CTO and he calls many of the shots on the technical side of things. He's international/remote and **has requested to have some sort of share in the success of the business**. I think he's earned it but don't know how to give it to him. As business owners, we are shareholders of the business. If we do really well, then we'll get really well compensated. Him? Outside of his monthly salary.. not so much.. even though our success would be due to his hard work. What are some good ways to help share in the winnings? I'm not sure what can be done for remote workers, we can't fill a retirement account, or issue shares. Any ideas?

The best sort of competitor to have is one that is completely checked out and going through the motions. The worst sort of competitor to have is one that seems to care about their customers more than you do.

Good Morning! I am on the process of setting up an online business and would very much prefer it to be based in the US, and eventually move there if the business goes well. Has someone done anything similar? What are the steps I need to follow to make this happen? Thanks in advance!

I have absolutely no idea of what to do
I'm a developer and I can pretty much build anything, I just don't know what to build. The only thing I know is, I would like to build and run something. I have this passion but I'm so out of ideas. What is your process to get an idea? Places to look?

Where to start if I need CAC data for my industry? (SaaS EHR for mental health professionals)
Hello, we are in the process of building our EHR (Electronic Health Records) software for our office internally. So far, it is looking amazing. I was thinking with a few tweaks, we can market this to many other mental health care professionals. I know that there will be a lot involved to actually acquire and service a large number of users, so I wanted to start by seeing if I could get data on CAC for this type of software. There are a lot in the market like Simple Practice, Therapy Notes, Thera Nest, etc. and I wanted to see if I could get a ball park number. Can any one give guidance on this? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!

How to grow your business with newsletter
If you are an early stage start-up, eCommerce brand, solopreneur or Indie business looking for growth, newsletter advertising can be your most economical option. A highly engaged niche newsletter with typically more than 40% open rates can drive a lot of traffic with buy intent to your business. Basically you need a listing of newsletters that can give you 3 things: 1. Database with micro-influencers, their rates, and contact details 2. Data about their audience's size - subs 3. The context to reach out to them So you reach out to the newsletter owners in that niche, you pay a nominal fee for a slot on their upcoming editions or offer an affiliate commission. In the latter case you can literally get started with $0 budget. Moreover, unlike a dynamic ad, your ad stays in that newsletter edition forever and SEO ensures that you keep getting traffic as that newsletter article gets more views. It's a win-win.

Special consideration to one shareholder whose consent is needed
To get necessary shareholder consent for a shareholder resolution (from a former employee with substantial shares), is it possible for a private company to give that person some consideration (monetary or otherwise) from a contractual basis? i.e. shareholder signs off on resolution but gets something in return for this consent. Essentially, even if it's a mutual agreement, want to understand if there are any caveats with respect to other shareholders (preferred or otherwise) given it's a private company.

Health Insurance for a Venture Backed Founder?
I raised a modest 100k for a new startup and I'm wondering how I should pay myself for health insurance? Should I contact a broker or just sign up for health insurance with my corporate debit card and pay the out of pocket from my personal bank account?
