What are your favorite diapers?

We've finally gotten through all of our gifted baby shower diapers and have to start buying our own, but I can't decide which brand to go with (DEFINITELY not Pampers though).

Husband thinks he can force 3.5 yo to take a nap

Normally my daughter wakes up around 7-7:30 and naps from about 12:30-2:30. This morning she slept in until almost 8:30 (rough night), but my husband decided she needs to be down for a nap at 11:30. He tried to get her down and she said she wasn’t sleepy, after 30 mins or so when she was “playing with her hands” instead of sleeping he yelled at her. When I tried defending my kid since she’s only been awake for 3 hours he started yelling at me too. He thinks he should be able to make her go to sleep whenever he wants. Wtf? Then I realized why he wanted her sleeping so early- he brought me flowers and coffee for our anniversary this morning so he thinks he should get sex before he goes to work at 1:30.

My almost 7 year old son only wants to play Minecraft or watch Youtube.

I'm a single parent. My 7 year old son only wants to play Minecraft or watch Youtube. I let him play Minecraft and watch Youtube at the start of the day today. I told him that we are going to the lake in the afternoon. When it came to the afternoon, he refused to get dressed. I told him there wouldn't be any Minecraft or Youtube to watch until we return from the lake. The response is to start throwing things around the room. I left the room to the living room to get away from the conflict. If someone has had similar behavior issues, I'm looking to try strategies to get past this. Thanks!

Consent in Infants

Hi everyone, I posted in my local community FB page about how I’ve been struggling since my daughters birth, with endless amounts of strangers in town reaching down to touch her (face, hands, feet, etc.,). I was trying to raise awareness to the concept of consent in children, and how these people didn’t even have the gall to ASK before touching my child. Generally the consensus was that you shouldn’t touch a strangers child in general, especially not without the parent’s permission. A few people outright told me to “move” as in our small town “we touch all the babies when they’re in public”. It was cringey. Raised a large red light in the fact that people don’t believe infants, or children in general really deserve rights and their own practise of consent. That’s my rant for the day.

5 week old only wants to nap while being worn but will sleep in bassinet at night. Am I messing things up?

My 5 week old girl will sleep 2-3 hour stretches in her bassinet over night. She will only nap in her bassinet during the day for like 20-30 mins. I try to pick her up and soothe her back to sleep. I try to leave her to see if she’ll fall back asleep on her own. I’ve tried swaddled and unswaddled. Pacifier no pacifier. Nothing works. I’ve eventually started baby wearing her for her naps. Am I going to mess up her sleep in her bassinet at night? I want her to be able to sleep in there at night and not get use to being worn all the time.

My kid is getting influenced by STBEXH

So this week was my turn to get my kids and as always my oldest was awful toward me. My daughter is almost 7 and she constantly talks back, she says that she hates me and doesn't want to be here, won't listen to me etc, her brother can do the same as well but never last long, after a day or two he turns into a teddy bear and want affection just as my youngest. Hearing your kid telling you how much they hate you is really hurtful.. I know she has always been a daddy's girl even when we were still together, he could have her say whatever he wanted to hear about me so he could get mad at me but I still thought she loved me somehow, I'm not abusive by any means, try to show them love and affection as much as I can and don't hold what she says against her but it just seems like she cannot wait until she can decide who she wants to live with and it is breaking my heart that she might never see her dad for what he is and be on his side when she's old enough..

Night sweats postpartum

Has anyone sweat extreme amounts post partum? I wake up in the middle of the night soaking wet from all my sweat to the point where I have to change the whole bed and shower and change again or I can’t go back to sleep because it’s so uncomfortable 😭 when does it eventually go away ?

Considering quitting EBF simply for vanity reasons

My 4mo baby is EBF and we have been lucky to have no problems. I’m in Canada so I have the year off, and planned to EBF for one year. However, I find myself wanting to quit, simply to look better. I can’t lose weight, even when I’m counting calories - the last 15 lbs won’t budge. And my breasts are huge which makes me look heavy. Also I’d really love to get my usual Botox and use Latisse again ha I’m just not looking as good as I used to! I wish I could be myself again I am worried if I wean for these reasons, I might regret it later. It’s kinda silly in the grand scheme of things right?! Wondering if there’s any solutions I haven’t thought of

I told him he can't but salt in his ice cream. My ears are still ringing. 🥴

Do I need to stop giving my baby puffs and teether crackers?

We feed our baby a wide variety of whole foods that we prepare ourselves. But she absolutely loves puffs and teether crackers for snack. I thought using the happy baby organic brand was a good move but now I am seeing that they have been specifically targeted for high arsenic levels. Do I need to immediately stop giving her these things? Is it just the brand? Is it actually not a big deal?

Frustrated with American gun nuts

Given the events of the past week, it has solidified even more that I fear “good guys” with guns more than I do encountering a “bad guy” with a gun :-( I hate certain politics and news have caused the “good guys” with guns to be paranoid of the country we live in, fueling more and more gun purchases by anyone and everyone. I’m so tired of guns ruling the US but I also feel sad that I feel “stuck” here like I live in a 3rd world country :-( I hope somehow miraculously things change within the next decade so our boys don’t have to live in this gun nut climate their whole lives too.

Headaches postpartum

Did anyone else get constant headaches postpartum? Like it’s not super painful, it’s mostly just dull and my shoulders and neck are also kind of sore. I’ve been getting these headaches daily for a week now, I also just started my first postpartum period so could that have something to do with it? The headaches pretty much go away when I’m sleeping and then come back when I’m up doing a lot

Really struggling with new body

Prior to pregnancy I was incredibly proud of the body I had built in the gym. I always knew pregnancy would impact that but having had an emergency c section, I’m struggling to even be able to look at the scar and the scar tissue “shelf” above it. It’s painful and I think looks awful - so really impacting my ability to be intimate with my husband since it’s so off putting to me. Has anyone got any recovery tips for the shelf hate? Does it go away naturally? I’m hesitant to spend money on products like belly bands etc when I hear so many stories of them not working…

Wish he would cheat

I wish my husband would cheat. Then I’d have a good excuse to leave…. But he’s to lazy to cheat….
