[COMP] something finally clicked for me with getting the hips over the shoulders and I can finally hold a bound headstand tuck position
Just working on feeling stable in this position before I try lifting up fully.

For those of you who go to hot yoga, what’s your routine after?
I recently got a hot yoga membership so I’m curious what the best thing to do is. Do you go home to shower and change? Do you shower in the studio? Do you change and go on to other things?

I started enjoying savasansa
Daily practice for 4 years and skipped it or abbreviated it or just waited for it to be over in live classes. But I recently heard/read savasana framed as allowing yourself to receive the yoga you just did. That completely changed my experience! Now I love lying there and feeling all the light and energy my practice creates in my physical body. I don’t remember where I heard/read it, and it might have been on this sub. My apologies for not crediting the OP, and please comment if it was you.

Yoga Philosophy Question
I have let go A LOT of the bitterness and resentment held toward my Mother for my upbringing. Specifically it took me a long time to get over the anger I had to fix these things in the first place, it didn’t feel fair. I’m learning about Unity now, and I’m stuck because showing her that compassion and not having it reciprocated brings me genuine pain. It hurts when my mother looks at me with such disgust. What am I missing? Can someone help explain how to feel love and gratitude and unity in this? I feel like I’m missing something. Thanks fellow yogis.

Stronger through yoga
How do you know if you’re physically getting stronger through yoga? Total weight lifted in yoga never exceeds body weight. Do you make that assessment through physique in the mirror? Balance? Flexibility? Something else. That is, when and how did/do you know that you were literally getting stronger from yoga if you felt you were.

Does Hot yoga take time to get used to?
Where I live there are more hot yoga studios than non heated studios. The few times I tried hot yoga I ended up with a headache from the heat and humidity. I would really like to try more classes at the hot yoga studios because they offer much better variety/times than my non hot studio. Should I just keep trying hot yoga and hoping I'll eventually get accustomed to the heat? Did anyone else hate hot yoga at first but end up loving it? I would love some feedback thanks!

Swollen Achilles tendon after yoga session - likely culprits?
Since following a yoga video at home yesterday (One I've followed before), I started feeling pain above my one of my heels at the back of my foot, on the Achilles tendon. It hurts when standing for a few seconds but the pain eases quickly. Investigation this evening (24-36 hours after the yoga session) finds hard swelling on the affected tendon, indicating something has define happened. If it doesn't improve in a day or two I will go to the doctor. Any idea what asanas are most likely to have caused this?
